Thread: Selling items with vendor publicly???
I put the vendor in the house, and when i use it, it looks like a bazaar interface. It has options for vendor, region, planet, and galaxy, yet nothing shows up on those things aside from what i put in my own vendor, and no one else can see my items on the public bazaars.
Is this accurate? That items you put on your vendor are only accessible to other people who directly use your vendor?
Sounds ultra stupid to me if its true...
Anyone know anything about this???
I am 95% sure that this CSR had no idea what he was talking about.
From all that I've gathered through Dev beta posts, this is as intended believe it or not.
Options for Region, Planet, and Galaxy are for your other vendors.
You have to go out and promote your store... advertise like in real life. It's a bit odd to me too, but still affords some great opportunities. Imagine your store being reknowned throughout your planet for only having the highest quality goods. Keep it classy and clean an you've got yourself a business.
Plus, eventually crafters will get to a point where items are worth MUCH more than 3,000 credits and will therefore be forced to have their wares in vendors or street selling.
I put a harvester deed up when there were only 3 others for sale on the entire planet of Naboo. It did not show up for a friend who was at a terminal checking for me.
This is simply not the case. I placed items in my vendor, and even now, two days later, they are still not visible on the bazaar in any way, shape, or form.
Regarding bazaar spam, I placed items in a category with considerably less than one page of items, and they're still not listed. The only conclusion is that there is no connection at this time between Vendors and the Bazaar.
In fact, I've noted that the only thing in the 'Business' tree that actually works is the Access Fees. Premium Sales don't work, as they do absolutely nothing to make your sale more visible or otherwise distinguished from the other sales, yet it takes your 100 credits very happily. It worked in beta, but it's not working now.
Both of these abovementioned problems have been /bugged, probably more than once, so it has to be a known issue.
With regards to advertising your vendor location: Where? You can't sell waypoints, and, as far as I know, you can't spam mail your waypoint to a bunch of people (like a*;b* whatever) with your vendor waypoint included, there's no bulletin board to post these locations in-game, and there's no readily visible means of advertising it on the building it's placed in (like a billboard - building signs aren't prominent enough for a player not looking for it). I'de be happy with a small flat rectangle sign with an editable texture, even if I had to pay maintenance on it. Let me put it on my house, aka 'store'...
Now, I haven't gotten there yet, but supposedly in the Merchant tree there's a skill level where 'Planetary Advertising' is the whole idea. From what I understand, your vendor will be marked on the CTRL-V map or something. Of course, the skill is completely empty.... no skill mods or abilities... and there's absolutely no help in the holocron regarding this subject. The help in the vendor only tells you what things in the vendor mean.
I need the vendor to sell my houses because of the cap on the bazaars. It takes about 3500 resources in total to build a small house. About 6000 to build an equipment factory. If I sold the resources by themselves, at 1 credit per unit, which is below the going price nowadays, I would make more money than selling a finished product made with those same resources. That isn't right. Finished products are always more valuable than the resources you put into making them. Otherwise, from a business standpoint, why make them?
'Player Run' economy can't happen unless the tools are made available for us to use, in working condition. When I hear about being unable to retrieve sold items from vendors (hasn't happened to me - yet(knock-knock)), that is not a tool in working condition. And I don't wanna spend all my time standing in the street /shouting. I need to spend my time hitting missions and getting the occasional sale and then running all the way back to my harvesters and power facilities to pay the maintenance and such. I made a 10k(I didn't set the price, it was the first offer - yay) sale the other day, and it was gone in five minutes, totally on maintenance b/c I had had so few sales that my power facilities were in disrepair, and I had to offset the repair cost. No way to run a railroad.
i know for sure, that i have bought stuff at the bazaar and got a waypoint to a vendor somewhere out of town but the items i put up on my own vendor will not appear on the bazaar.
i don't have any merchant skills, just buisness 3
could any merchant check if their items appear on bazaar or not?
"i know for sure, that i have bought stuff at the bazaar and got a waypoint to a vendor somewhere out of town but the items i put up on my own vendor will not appear on the bazaar."
In beta yes. In release no. Nothing appears on teh bazaar from a vendor in release. This is as designed. They wanted to unclutter the bazaar.
