Thread: How do you get colored text on the Bazaar and Waypoints?

As an artisan, I've been trying to figure this out since I made my first character in SWG. I climbed up the business line and then kept on going to become a Merchant. But I still cannot figure this out.

Is there a slash command that needs to be used (but isn't documented anywhere that I can find) or is this a merchant skill that has some name which doesn't fully indicate to me that is the function of the command?

I've been looking for the answer for weeks. Help would be appreciated.

you type:
\#<hexcolor>\<text>

So, for black: \#000000\This is black

For more info on hex colors, look at an html color chart, they work the same way.

Ok. Thank you.

I'm familiar with hex color codes but it was driving me crazy trying to figure out if it was a merchant skill (as it should be) or if it was just some slash command which I couldn't find.

Thanks again.

I tried this on my vendor names, and it kept telling me to use something :"less obscene." LOL. Worked fine on my house name, though

I did this one a few items just testing it and it works great, but I don't want to log into the bazaar and see hundreds of colored items, especially since it sorts them by color and name. So if you sort by name it will have all of one color sorts by name, then the next color, so on and so forth. I would hate to have to deal with hundreds and hundreds of colored items all over the bazaar.

This is why it will be "nerfed" and no one will be able to color anything.

I saw something else recently I'd like to know how to do.. Saw a harvester name in colors, but it had a second line. What is the code for carriage return?

To do that, use the email function, and then cut and paste

I always use the same colours for the same armor types etc. Which makes it easier for people to see the the Chitin, and Ubese etcif they are all colour coded.

I also store things I use repeatedly as macros. That way, I can just go to edit macro, and cut and paste the things I use most often without having to retype it over and over. Like the item description/add I use for bazaar items.

That code works for me for the Bazaars

*but* what about /shout?

The macro looks like the /shout should have the color, but when I do shout, it doesnt work

ie /shout \#FFCC33\ Buy my stuff...

Foxbat, I know what you mean by the "less obscene" thing.

I wanted to name my vendor Working Man Tools, as it is a tool vendor. I tried every reasonable combination I could think of. I settled on "Workin' aMn Tools."

I also have had trouble with seemingly obscene shop names.
