I noticed a few days ago that i was no longer getting the hourly exp for my vendors. Before friday i got 150xp per vendor per hour. So for me it was 900 exp. When I started merchant many agreed this was the formula and it always worked.. Well I talked ot a csr yesterday and they decided to monitor my exp for 24 hours. it was positive I was getting any exp form vendors. So he talks to the head of the SWG CS, and is told that we dont get exp from vendors hourly. We get 50 xp per visitor who looks at our vendor, and 50 xp per person if we charge admittance. Thats it. So at most you cna get 100xp per person every 30 minutes. This blows big time. Thats alot of visitors. Thought youd like to know

cheers

To be perfectly blunt, that CSR was basically full of crap. I have 6 vendors set up, and get around 20k of merchant experiance on a daily basis. For a week I was not, and this problem was due to be training efficiency 2 I later found out. You seem to only get the hourly experiance for vendors that you pay mantainence on. So for me, since I had already completed all the other lines except for Efficiency, I changed out two of my vendors for box vendors once the time came that I absolutely had to train eff2. Since then, I have been getting my normal 150xp per hour per vendor I pay maintanence on.

I just got business 4 last night, put down a vendor, and the xp seemed to be rolling in as expected. One thing that may be happening for you though is that once you qualify for a level and don't take it, at some point (like half way to the next higher box or so) your xp capps off, and you stop earning more until you level-up. I don't know if that's your situation or not, but that is a possible explanation.

Never fear! Endos is here! ok that was lame. anyway the solution to your problem if you havent fixed it yet: your vendors are bugged and not charging maintenace. if they charge no maintenace, you get no hourly xp.

destroy one of your vendors and replace it with a bartender vendor say in the back of your shop. throw on about 10k in merchandise to get your maintenace to around 8cr per hour. you are now paying mainteanace and will now geterate your hourly xp.

it happened to me dirrectly after i got efficientcy2. took me a whiel and a bit of board surfign to find a solution and well, i did what i wrote above and i went back to 20k-ish xp a day insatntly.

good luck in yoru business mate!

MXP breaks for NPC vendors as soon your get Eff2. I was wondering why I didnt advance anymore since some point in time, and someone pointed it out. Funnily enough, the last skillbox I got since that happened was Eff2.

just from general experience and playing, I was always under the belief that Sales, either through the Bazaar or player made market, were what gave you Merchant points. Is this not true? I make about 6-7k merchant experience a day and i sell about 50-60 items a day on the bazaar. i also have two vendors in my player mall/cantina, but the sales have not been heavy there due to slow population (we're just getting settled in). now, am i just getting experience for the vendors in the mall? or is the bazaar selling/buying helping? ...that is what a merchant does, isn't it?

You do not get any experience off the bazaar.

Nope, not true. All you really need to do to progress up the merchant tree is place vendors, pay maintenence and sit on your keister. Nice profession eh? lol
