I can't help but wonder how many people have Novice merchant just for the cheap NPC vendor? I'm thinking a great deal of crafters get Merchant skills just so they can sell their own stuff, and would much rather spend those skill points somewhere else. . .
So merchants, what do you think of splitting all the Merchant skills between Business 1-4 and making that skill tree more difficult to climb. This would allow you to be a merchant with all the skills and still have skill points left over for something else.
Oh and if death is my sentence for making this suggestion I'll take the firing squad please. Blind fold, no cigarette (I hear they cause cancer)

Certainly this could work, but I hate the idea. Sure, it would be nice to get those 55 skill points back, but I don't want to see Merchants become a half-class that any artisan picks up on a whim. Especially wth Player Cities coming up, I see this as a great profession with lots of potential. When I first got my large house, and started decorating it, I thought it would be fun to run a Cantina. This would just take too much effort right now, but with the right skills, Merchants could run Cantinas/Hotels/Casinos, set up established shops, provide hawker's around shuttle ports, the possibilities are endless.
