Thread: Idea for Merchant Revamp
I remember when I first started this game I wanted to become a merchant. I did this because I wanted to run a business and everything. Little did I know... That my dream was infact impossible in my newb form. I was very saddened that all the Merchant profession was is a grind to be able to place a vendor, and thats pretty much it. So... In an effort to actually get this to become a reality I decided to post my view on how I would i liked it to be.
The Junk dealers will now have an option to get a mission from him. He will give you a list of different things he needs done: One involving Entertaining and getting a certain item from a NPC that you perform for as payment for the show, another involving gathering resources (surveying) and then crafting an item with a schematic the Junk dealer gives you, and another will involve combat where the Junk dealer gives you a waypoint where you must kill whatever/whoever is there and loot the bodies for your reward. Once you get the item and bring it to the Junk Dealer he will reward you with a certain amount of Merchant Experience depending on your skills in the Merchant Tree. (see chart at bottom to see merchant reward depending on current merchant skill) Now you are given an option to sell the Item to the Junk dealer, or you may keep it and sell it on your own accord, either way as long as he sees the item, you are granted the XP for the mission.
The answers may seem repetive but each level has some important differences.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL REWARDS ARE LEVEL BASED MEANING A LEVEL TWO MISSION FOR EXAMPLE YIELDS A LEVEL TWO ITEM REWARD.

Either deny him that and kill him (he shouldn't be too hard) or .. run away before you die or tell him that you are going to craft the item for him. Craft it right there since you have all the materials and Drag and drop the item onto him. He will then disapear. ***NOTE*** You Will only be encountered by a thief on a random time meaning 1/10 of the missions you do for the crafting portion ***** Bring the item back to the Junk dealer for a monetary reward and merchant experience, he will grant you a level two item reward. level five:35000 credits
10% Legendary. 20% Exception Loot 80% chance clothing attachment or armor attachment (random stats should not be crappy)
