1. Place resource crates stacked one on top of each other over the vendor. These work really well, as perople cannot click the vendor.
2. Barricade the door to your shop with lampposts or any other items you can find that have collision detection.
3. Do NOT use the Coronet, Theed, or Mos Eisley Starports.
4. Do not go into public cantinas, use player city ones instead.
5. If you choose to stay in business, remove any items on your vendor that are over 500k, this includes backpacks at 9999999 as these are getting bought by dupers.
Any other ideas?

Can't make a building with vendors in it private.
You could set a 50k access fee, but if they pay it, you're just as bad off as if they had bought something.

Carry only as much credits as you need, and store the rest of your credits in your vendors as maintenance, as you can withdraw the credits, so if you do get an unwanted tip, then tip all your credits back to the person who tipped you, then you should no longer have any possible duped credits, and also report the incident too.
Also If you're tipped via bank your cash credits should be fine, but if tipped locally via cash credits your bank credits should be fine. So if you tip back, then use the way you were tipped by, if unsure then you'll have to tip all credits, both cash and bank back to them.

But keep in mind that if people know the name of the vendor all they have to do is type "/target vendor-name" to target the vendor. Then they could execute "perform default action on target" to access it. Of course, most people don't know this, so hiding the vendor behind something probably isn't a bad idea.
But in truth. It doesn't seem like this is as big a deal as some people are thinking. A few vocal people have started speaking about how they were banned or locked out of their accounts or whatever, but it seems like most people are just playing on as though nothing was happenning.
My vendors are all left as they always were and so are many others on Kauri.

I'm trying to sell as many items as possible so that I can meet the item limit for my skill level at publish 10. How the @#*$ am I supposed to do that while shop is closed? .... and you know it's going to take another few weeks to straighten out this dupe thing by soe. This game makes me cry sometimes.

I wouldn't advise tipping them back. I would contact CSRs immediately and they will most likely tell you to /tip SOE_Collector. This will destroy the credits. Tipping the person back can still lead to your ban.
