Well, including my Resource vendors, my Structure Vendor, my Crated Components Vendor, my Art vendor, my Power-up vendor, and my "storage" vendor to hold all my components for my master crafting professions(Artisan, Architect, Tailor), I have over 20,000 items. Most of which is resources. A 4000 item limit spread across 1 or 1000 vendors doesn't matter, it's still too restrictive to effectively manage a decent sized business. SOE just wants everyone tohave small businesses, and screw the successful merchants. I've put in over 3200 hours in 13+months building my businesses and reputation.
SOE just wants the big guys to drop out to make room for the little guys, or to get more accounts. Well, I sure as hell won't give them more money to screw me over anymore. They don't use lube. I could probably deal with this Merchant nerf on some level, but I don't agree on the way that they announced it, and then left the players AND Doc in the dark, just to sweeten the nerf a while later. It's like taking a magnifying glass to an ants nest, then dropping a sugar cube on it a week later and hope the ants forgot that half their nest was burnt to a crisp.
Their "Bait-and-Switch" technique has been WAY overdone in the past 6 years. No more SOE for me until they clean up their act...which would be never, I bet. They invest too much in gaining NEW customers, and not enough in customer service/customer satisfaction for their existing customer base.
It was a nice distraction for a while, but Real Life is calling me back. Sailing, Water skiing, horseback riding, camping, hiking, dating, partying....gotta love it. =)
