Thread: Offers to Vendors...

First I want to say hello. With the recent changes I've been forced to re-evaluate my crafters build and am happy to say I'll be joining the ranks of the Merchant community. I've been interested in becoming a large scale distributor of my own weapons as well as other contracted items ... though the Merchant changes have proven a surprise, I'm interested in playing them out and seeing where they take me.

I do have a question within the current system though. Did a quick scan and didn't find the info I was looking for. If I'm repeating a previous post I apologize.

My question basically is... what about items currently being offered tovendors?

If ALL items on vendors are counted towards the cap, does that mean I have to leave X number of open spots for items I'm expecting to have offered to me in any given week?

If this is the case it would be extremely simple for forms of espionage to occur between high volume merchants. An item on a vendor remains there even if rejected until the player who offers it comes to retrieve it (or the time passes) right? Similarly... if the limit is reached can players still have items offered to them?

Thanks for your help and I look forward to learning more from your profession and community.

This is 100% assumption so take it as such, but I would imagine that "offers" would be counted much the way items in the storeroom are counted in that they don't affect your item limit.

Even so, no one person would ever be able to offer more than 25 items to your vendor at a time, and if they did it just to grief you, you could just "hold" the item without rejecting it until it expires. That would keep him from listing anything on the bazaar or other vendors.

Good point... hadn't considered the 25 item limit on that. Hopefully it works as you state.

Based on how it all works I'm pretty certain that the offers don't count. I know the stockroom doesn't becuase I tested that myself.
