Thread: why is thier a lag in merchant XP?
Well if you are planning your day around Merchant XP you need a hobby or sometlhing.![]()
But to answer your question a while back (3 or 4 months) the devs made a fairly large change to the universe. They altered houses so that the items in side them didn't load until you went in to them. This was a fairly big change as it greatly reduced the load on the server (expecially at start up ) by not loading all these items in your house that no one is looking at yet. The problem is that it didn't load the vendors and they stopped giving xp when they weren't loaded. So the devs "fixed" the vendors so that they figure out how much xp they owe you when they get loaded again and catch it all up at once. This causes the effect your are seeing. When someone goes into your shop your vendor loads and catches up.
You can force it to update any time you want by having your toon or someone elses go into the room where it is and let everything load. You don't even have to view it or anything, just stand there for a second.

It used to be worse. Back when I was going Master we had to have the vendor loaded to get the hourly xp. I stayed logged on sitting in my house for 3 weeks
Yea me too

ok so your saying in order for me to get a up to date count of XP, I jsut have to stand inside my house for a few minutes? to let it load up. I was before when tlaking to a customer I didnt see any change
I've tested it several times..seems to be consistent. If you walk into the room where the vendors are and wait for them to fade into view then check your xp is should be updated. There might be a delay for the interface to update as well and I suppose lag could be a factor as well but the times I have tested it the xp came pretty quickly.
