So, I know if you drop Management 4, you keep your vendors. If you drop Hiring 4, you don't lose the clothes you already have on your vendor. But...if you drop Advertising 3, are you still on the map? I know it doesn't really make sense, since basically at Advertising 3 you're maintenance fee is changed, and it's only logical that it goes back to the normal rate, thus dropping your map registration. But does anyone know for sure? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks...

Yes it is possible to get 6 vendors from management 4, place them in a tent from efficiency 4, Dress them in uniforms from hiring 4 (or place pink silent protocol droids from master), and registrant them the map with advertisement 3. Then just drop al merchant skills... and you would be able to use the vendors still, you could just not change anything.
The cannot restock bit is one of the many solutions to the problem we have posted, but apparently the devs are lacking the will, time, skills, or more them one of these to do anything about it. (with skills I am referring to the my suspicion that the Database might be to complex to implement any of the solutions we have suggested)

Jesus...I knew there was a problem...I just didn't realize that it was such a big problem! What's the point of the merchant profession if anybody can do it? btw I think most of the people who have posted thinking that this was not a problem are the people who rely on this bug. I know I could search through previous threads, but any word on when this might be fixed?

No time frame for a fix what so ever. The closest we have ever gotten was an acknowledgement that this is a problem and a request to suggestion, and that was passes throe our correspondent and not a direct "red name" post.

So I was reading various threads on the skill-dropping merchants...I was under the impression that a player could get the vendors, stock them, drop the skills, keep the vendors, but not be able to restock them. Reading these threads, it now sounds to me that one could get the vendors, sotck them, drop the skills, keep the vendors, and continue to interact with the vendors normally. Surely the latter is not correct?!? If that is the case, wow. I can definitely see why it's such an issue.
