Thread: So what happens now with map registration?

At the current moment I have three vendors that are registered on the overhead map, but I do not have advertising 3 anymore. I will be keeping novice merchant, but my current template doesnt allow for ad 3 as well. Will my current vendors remain registered? Will I need to get ad 3, register them, and then be able to drop ad 3? Or will I need to get and keep ad 3 to keep them registered?
Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I did not see this question elsewhere.

It should not stay on the map. But if the changes are implemented as told, it will. As long as something is in the vendor.

I don't believe anything is changing with planetary advertisements in the upcoming publish. Though, if your vendor is empty, it won't show in the map listing.

As it is now, you need Adv 3 to register your Vendor. If you drop Adv 3 then, it stays registered till the vendor is deleted. You can't register new vendors, or change the category of your vendor.
As far as i've heard this will not change with publish 10, but I'm sure it will sooner or later. And I don't lie now if I say I'd rather see it happen sooner.

In all fairness to the merchants that get and keep advertising III - anyone that doesn't have it should be immediately removed from the planetary map.
Again this is like Mastering Doc - dropping it and still being able to use buff packs and E stims (you can't). Shouldn't be happening in Merchant either.

And if you happen to actually open and look at the map with all the vendors showing.....its useless. Especially the way it is now. Massives swaths of vendor icons that you cannot make heads or tails of.
I recently even saw a map-registered vendor named "Click me for my Experience". Ugh.

Agreed. We will be asking them to fix that. You shouldn't be allowed to keep getting the benefits of advertising if you aren't qualified for it any longer.
Under publish 10 if you vendor ever gets empty it will unregister from the map and you won't be able to get it back on the map until you get the Advertising III skill again.
