Thread: Stockroom notification

Now I know.

I am another sucker who has inadvertantly lost items from my vendor stock room. Since I only lost a few items here and there I thought I was misremembering my inventory, but I've caught on now ...

I want to promote the notion of NOTIFYING players that their stock room items will be destroyed. I understand why the stockroom deletion system in in place and even support it. I know that there are many like me losing valuable items expecting that the "stockroom" is the place to keep stock....

There needs to be a mail notification system or days to deletion indication in the stockroom. This should be a current vendor issue. It is an unnecessary aggravation to new and casual players.

Well you do get email when items are de-listed and put into the stockroom. Now the problem that I have had recently - and reported bugs for is one day something gets delisted and the very next day the item expires and poof gone. That for me has been very frustrating - so now whenever I see items being delisted I have a tendency to drop whatever I am doing that day and relist.

Yeah, I lost a million units of flora that way (I was out of town for several days, 10 stacks of 100k went off and poofed the next day or so) I'm pretty religious about checking my vendor times now.

True. But, there is NOTHING "in game" (email, help or otherwise) that explicitly says that item will be destroyed if not relisted withing a certain period of time.

That "7 day" message should be hardcoded into the message received when an item fails to sell.

I agree, this is a pretty good merchant issue. If you start out like I did as an uninformed merchant, the stockroom seems like a nice place to store items. I had a bunch of items go poof with a nice email letting me know they were deleted when I first became a merchant. A notification, similar to when harvestors poof may be helpful to allow for pulling items that will be deleted from the stockroom in order to help out future merchants.

Yeah i lost alot of inventory that way too, but only after 1 or 2 days, instead of a week. Messed up my stock list and now i don't even update it.

Yeah a simple message within the this item is no longer for sale - would be easy to implement. Put it in all caps or something *PLEASE NOTE THAT ITEMS CAN ONLY REMAIN IN STOCKROOM FOR 7 DAYS BEFORE DELETED*

Having some kind of warning after the items are "de-listed" right before they go "poof" would be very helpful. While I was working on merchant I didn't know items went "poof" after placed in the stockroom. I thought the stockroom was just that. And for my arrogance I ended up losing alot of armorsmith related stuff as well as some other really cool loot. I suppose the point is that afterwards I spent about a week talking to a CSR looking for all the stuff before I found out what really happened.

I'm just trying to say that no one else needs to go through that and if we could have some kind of notice or even a countdown timer like we have when we place things on sale would be great. And if we could also have a notice for when our vendor's are running low on maintainance would be pretty cool too cuz sometimes we get too busy and forget and those of us who do have vendors tend to put a lot of valuable items on them.

well,

in my opinion the stockroom deletes items anyways way to fast :/

some players have a real life also and might go on vacation for 3 weeks what isnt unnormal. so i would love to see that stockroom can hold the items at least 3 weeks before they get deleted.

another big issue is the restocking of unsuccessful sales.

i mean in real life terms the 30 days period makes no sense at all, but for game reasons i can understand why it got implemented.

so but if you have a sucessfull business running we have bunch of items (soon as master merchant max 4000) to sell.

you never can put all in one day intoa vendor and so with they spreaded over this 30 days, so end result will be that every couple days you have to restock. but to click every single item and enter price new is a pain in the butt and not fun or cntent for a businessman.

so i would suggest to get a nice option to mark items and click a restock button.

this would set the marked items back to the vendor with old price u had before and let u manually alter prices of some other goods.

regards

I still think the ability to list items by the time they have left remaining on the shelf is a necessity. I have a trip coming up that will take me out of the country and I will not have internet access. If I could just relist everything that's close to running out before I leave, could save myself the headache of clicking on each item to see how much time is left...................
