Is it possible to have a Master Merchant or any other merchant set up a vendor for you, and let you put items on it, and have the money go to your player?

If it is possible, do you think it will still be possible after Publish 10?

This has never been possible, and Idoubt will ever change (although it would be very handy for people with merchant alts). The other person still needs to maintain the vendor and will receive all gmails and credits from sales. The only thing you can do is offer items to the vendor, the other person will need to buy them and place them for sale.

Hope this helps.

The idea of renting a vendor is a great one I think. It would give us something to do with all the extra ones we're going to have soon

But honestly think about it. You could set up the vendor for the renter and give them admin rights to it like you can on harvs and factories. The renter can pay the maint on the vendor. And here's where you could determine how you as the merchant make your money on the deal...you either get a set number of credits per hour that comes out of the vendor's maint, or you get a portion of the sales on the vendor.

I would think the ability to do something like this is feasible, kind of how the sales tax and property tax works now in cities.

This has been discussed before. It would simply lead to the same as giving admin for others on harvs: server trade merchants. But in principle it is a nice idea, I would like it. Just to be able to restock with a different char than with my merchant. But I would never lend it to someone else because there is a maximum number of items one can sell on the vendors, it would lead to having less room for my own things.

I would like the possibility to rend out space on vendors, even if I would properly not use it that much. Kind of a commission sale but where the product provider did all the work.

The should give merchants the possibility to grant admin rights of a vendor to a person like for factories.

They can put their own stuff in and can access the stockroom of "their" vendor, but not the other ones.

I've posed this idea several times now, so I guess I may as well stick wth it.

I like to think of the possibility of not "renting" a vendor, but of customers being able to "hire" a vendor (sales employee), that a merchant has

1) Created and customized

2) Trained

3) Placed down

4) Taught to bark an ad if desired

5) Dressed out

6) Initialized

7) Map registered, if desired

8) Transfered all administration of to the customer

All for various fees decided upon by the merchant.

The customer then has all of the ability to stock it, restock it, unstock it, gets all related mail, and all related payments for merchandise.

As you can imagine, is your are not getting a cut, then all fees for the above would not be tiny. They would have to be very carefully figured so as to make it profitable and rewarding for both the merchant, and the customer.

Added to the list, merchants and only merchants would be able to make changes to things such as the name of the vendor (if that ever becomes possible), its clothing, its ad barking phrase, it map registration category, etc.

After a time, the vendor would eventually "forget" its ad barking phrase and need to be re-educated as to what it is. That would provide a necessity for another visit from your friendly merchant vendor broker. Things such as map registry could be redone to make them time limited, say they last a month, or two weeks. Then they need to be redone by a merchant again.

Just a set of ideas, but decent ones, I think, that cover a lot of the troublesome ground between merchants, and non-merchants who want more direct control over their stock.
