ok does anyone know what will happen to merchant tents owned by people who no longer have efficiency 4? i have a vendor located in such a tent. i am following the merchant career but im not yet at a point that a can place a tent. will the tent be destroyed or the vendors be unusable? if someone can clarify this for me it would be much appreciated. and another question. when i get to efficiency 4 can the tent be transfered to me with the vendor inside still intact?

As far as I've heard, merchant tents will be unaffected.
I would imagine that it can be transferred to you once you get to Eff 4.
I'd hurry, tho. There's no telling if / when they might fix this.

thanks for the reply. yes ill try and get efficiency 4 so i can look after the tent as soon as possible. oh and with a transfere will the vendors have to be removed and restocked again or will they just remain as they are?

I tell ya, I just cant bring myself to do this. You just never know when they might hot-fix this, and maybe your tent will go poof along with millions of creds worth of stuff. Talk about suckage!

No, a transfer doesn't disturb the contents of the building.
It will, however, take the original owner off the admin list.
But since being an admin is not required to have a vendor in a building (after initial placement anyway), no vendors will be harmed in this process.

I think we would hear about it before a hot fix as the code would probibly include skill checks for all structures - I.E. an unannounced fix would cause Cantinas, Hospitals, and Theaters to poof all over the galaxy as well.

True.
I'm sure that's why they didn't just make vendors poof if you didn't have the skill for them.

Um, this is SOE we're talking about here....
In a related question, how do you transfer ownership of a structure (such as the tent) without re-deeding it?

Good point.
You have to be in or near it.
Type /transferstructure (with the player targeted, or add their name)
It will give them the structure (works for factories and harvesters, too).
However, the game does check to see if they could have placed the building in the first place (right skills, free lots, etc) so you can't just give your hospital to your bounty hunter buddy or someone without enough lots to spare.
When the transfer is complete, it will take YOU off the admin list but not anyone else.
You'll need to get the new owner to add you back.
You remain on the entry list, so they'll need to remove you if they don't want you in their new house.
Nothing else about the structure is changed.
