Former beta tester here.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding this profession. There were some pretty big issues for Merchants at end of beta. Hopefully since you need Business III in the artisian line and a place to put your first vendor, it gives the devs time to fix the problems.

If you are thinking of just going merchant you may want to reconsider. Merchant xp currently is VERY slow, as the only way to get it is through placing vendors and allowing the xp to trickle in. For example. 1 vendor at point brought in about 450 Merchant xp every 24 hours, but right before beta ended it dropped to about 1 xp per hour. This is a big one that needs to be addressed or it will be years before you see a master merchant.

Wow not good to hear that there are issues....

I do love a challange however. So if I get this right the only way to gain merchant Experience is to have ppl buy goods off your vendors, and currently there is a very slow rate of experiece gained.

I am new to this whole experiece but am eager to learn. I currently only have one question since I have yet been in the game. Waiting for the west coast servers.

What is the fastest way to become a merchant. Since this is the profession I have looked forward to for so long how do i go about getting there the fastest.

Thanks

Actually, in beta we found no xp increase if anyone used your vendors. Xp just trickles in as long as maintenance is payed on the vendor. This was true up until 2 days before release. Not sure if anything has been fixed yet since then.

To place a vendor you need:

1. Business III from the artisian profession

2. a player building to place your vendor. Usually you will buy a small house and set up shop.

After you place your vendor, sit back and watch the xp sloooowly trickle in.
