Thread: Ok so now i can place a vender in someone elses home, but.....
No, it is not your vendor. I have another in my house, and all I can do is shop from it. I can not add maints or anything.
I'd like an admin list as well.

I believe their intent in this is that if you want to use a private vendor, or enjoy the benefits of one, you need to spend skill points and pick up Merchant skills.
That or feel free to work out a deal with your local Merchant.
I'm not so sure I have any problems with this concept.
(Mild rant, and I'm in a little manic phase with my bipolar so its a long read
)
Personally I think it is perfect.
For one thing. In real life you dont have people walking into wallmart and ploppin down stuff for sale, setting their own prices then expecting walmart to sell it and give them the money. This isnt ebay. If you wanna sell something at walmart you have to be a supplier, supply quantity and quality and deliver.
For another. If you have a decent vendor 'other planets' or closer is a piddly problem for several reasons.
1) You should be receiving enough things to put on your vendor that it takes time to stock it. Saying that its a waste of time and money to hop over to naboofor one item iscorrect. Dont do it for just one item. Wait until they have 20 or 30 and then sell them.
If your a quality vendor you sell more then just one item a day. If your not making enough on your vendor to pay for your round trip and a reasonable compensation for your time then maybe you consider what your selling and where your selling it.
The only people that should be selling items on distant planets that are expensive or hard to reach are ones that are selling items that are expensive or hard to find. Its just plain dumb to expect that it should be economical to travel half way accross the galaxy just to sell powerups.
This will leads to more quality vendors and less piddly one shotters selling 5 powerups and a half used up scout blaster.
2) People should be offering stuff to your vendor. Preferablely often. When I go to my vendors I need to spend atleast a half hour to an hour there retrieving cataloging and reselling all of my items. And thats no wasted time. We moved 60k worth of items on the first day and that DIDNT include armour which was on a seperate vendor. Spending an hour to sell 60k worth of items to me is well worth it.
And before someone screams casual player. I dont think vendors and merchant were meant for casual players. Not all of the professions are made to be played by casual players. The bazaar is there for the casual player. They can sell nearly anything on it for a price. May not be as high as they want but then their second option is to go find a merchant and sell to them. Or bark on the streets every other day.
Please devs dont nerf this.
You guys on the one hand are complaining that bus III shouldnt have a vendor but your asking for the exact same thing in return. Doing this will make it so that anyone and their sister can run a vendor. All you need is to have one merchant up the vendor branch for every 6 people in your guild and everyone can have their own personal shop. Then its not a profession, its just a skill switcher. You train the 6 vendors, place them and never touch them again.
With it this way you have to invest both time and money into making sure that yoru vendor turns a decent enough proffit to be worth having. And that in turn gaurentees a vendor decent enough worth visiting. Which in turn makes teh whole vendor market (haha what a term) full of fewer highquality vendors as opposed to many low quality. Which in turn makes it such that the players themselves get a better vender everytime they use one regardless of where. Which in turn makes our profession worth a darn.
In a different thread you guys were asking for flags on houses or something to signal a shop. Well if you do this there will be gaurenteed a flag on ever house. And then whats the point? Might as well be no flag.
I'm diggin merchent, really, lets make forward progress, not backward.
