Hello all,

Let me first start by saying thank you for all the great ideas and advice that get posted to this board. The explanation for customized vendor barking before the August 13th patch really helped a bunch.

I am a Chef as well as an accomplished Merchant. I plan on going to master in both professions. There are a few things I would like see in the Merchant profession that would really make this profession unique.

Merchant UI

This would be an interface one obtained somewhere along the Merchant path. It would have several features for enhanced communication and customer tracking.

• Customized Sales E-mails


• Customer Tracking


• Customer Purchase History (With export option to text)


• Advertising Campaign

I will explain the above features in detail below, but let me first say that I know this would not be easy to implement. It would however give the Merchant class a unique worthy ability to distinguish the profession.

Customized Sales E-mails:

This option when checked would give the merchant the ability to customize the email a customer receives when they purchase an item. Limit the customization to 255 characters to help cut down on database inflation.

Customer Tracking:

This is a passive option available from the vendor menu. Any time a customer browses one of your vendors they are added to a customer counter. This counter will only count unique visitors within an as of yet undetermined timeframe.

Customer Purchase History:

This would give you access to a list of customers you have had over the last 12 hours and what they have purchased. Again only unique customers are counted. Maximum of a 3-purchase history per customer in the 12-hour timeframe. (Necessity due to database size)

Advertising Campaign:

This ability is obtained at Master Merchant. When trained this ability gives the Merchant the ability to add potential customers to an advertising list (think /addfriend) and then send a mass mailer to each of the customers on that list. List not to exceed 25 potential clients.

Well, those are the ideas I have, and would love to see. I know they are probably nothing more then a pipedream. If we could even get something remotely similar to what’s above I would be happy. Thanks for listening to me ramble.

These some fine ideas, to which I would like to make an amendment:

Email-boxes: Similar to your Outlook mailboxes, which would allow me to drag 'sales' emails into a seperate box so I can track my sales, hold onto the names of good buyers, and collect sales for various consignors in one place. This would make it easier to erase emails I don't need and to keep my MAIN mailbox clear.

And/or..

The ability to add customers to my 'friends' list with notes, and the ability to create 'email aliases': I send a note to "Resource Buyers", or I can send a note to "weaponsFreaks".

These changes would make organizing Merchant stuff easier, but I'm not sure how hard they would be to implement, or how high a priority we can make them.

I think the best merchant ability would involve graphs and pie charts on items sold, unsold, and how much they were sold for and who they were sold to. Maybe a chart for eachdiffereny item and each different buyer. Like Bob boughta total of 13Z items and28 Y items from you in his character's life. Bob's chart will show this.

Now THAT would be worth getting master merchant for.
