Sorry, but shop banner type signs, vendors on exterior, vendor on the map, and the rest of these ideas maybe be well and good except for one problem. They all depend on someone actually hunting for shops, happen to be on your planet and in the area, and etc. In short, worthless as far as actually generating any customer traffic.

Without the ability to go to a terminal in a city and being able to search and find a listing for the items you have for sale at your shop, its just a plain waste of time.

Whose gonna read all those signs, notice the vendor, and any other localized advertising method? Spiders? Deer? Frogs? Or whatever MOB spawns on the planet you happen to be on?

I think behavior would change if the option was available and all of the best stuff was sold outside of cities in merchant stores.

Personally I believe these types of changes will really shine once Player Cities are introduced. Right now people wont hang out in housing locals because of the lack of things like missions terminals, shuttles, starports, ect ect ect. Once player cities are in and working, having your shop stand out will be much more effective once there are people actually hanging out around the housing.

I posted this elsewhere too, but I'd really like it and think it would help a lot for the "idle shopper" who may not know what vendor finding features *do* exist, if there were another category on the bazaar terminals.Ads or Classifieds: Name of shop, type items sold (text customizable box like Seller's Description), Waypoint(s), Name of Shop Owner/Crafter, City, Planet.
