I've enjoyed all your comments on this one- many different ideas and opinions and I agree and disagree with most. How's that for taking the Kerry position! (Its a joke! No flames
With regards to the Ferengi comment- my chars name is Seleana Ferengi! Enough said on that one but that should tell you the role I choose to play here.
With regards to Merchant PvP- interesting concept. Never really occurred to me as I have well over 1000 items in my shoppe at any one time and restock it daily (now if you want to start a "Get a life Seleana" thread we can go there if you dare
so I'm BEGGING you Merchant PvP'ers PLEASE come to my shop near Coronet on Radiant and attack attack attack. Bring your friends as you'll need help hauling all this underpriced stuff away! In fact if I am on /t me and I will help you haul all the stuff you buy over to your place.
Please please please try to use that tactic to put me out of business!

I have really enjoyed all the opinions I have been reading on this forum. I would like to clarify a few things to one of my earlier posts. When I said that I purchase from crafters at wholesale, then I resale them at retail. I also said "just like in real life". I didn't say that with any ignorance. I am a business owner. I own three "mom and pop" stores in three market areas. My business model "in real life" is I purchase products which happen to be pickup truck accessories direct from the manufacturers, then I resell them to the public at retail pricing. That is how 90% of America works. That is the system the drives our economy. I believe that same system works in SWG the same way. To me, that is what I am good at, I enjoy doing it. I am also a master pistoleer, so I can enjoy fighting as well. I get owned in PvP, but I have a good time. I enjoy the challenge of generating wealth in game more so then I enjoy fighting. I believe this game is generally working as it was intended. I only need one account to get the entertainment value I am looking for.
My comment about people quite after getting bored and blame SOE. I stand by that, but let me clarify. People should get bored of this game eventually. That is human nature. It doesn't matter what game it is actually. At some point everyone will get bored. Some sooner then others. All I am saying is that when I get bored, I will not blame anyone else other then myself. I won't make myself feel better by saying "I quit because SOE sucks" I will quite becuase I am bored because that is human nature.
Keep the opinions coming. I love to hear both sides of issues.
P.S. Would someone come buy out all my vendors. I love making a profit. Don't worry, I will restock soon........

I just don't get the "I'm bored" thing.
Personally I NEVER have enough time to do half the things in this game that I want to. I've established long-term goals for business in this game that have lasted over a year now and are still going strong.
Bored people usually need to look in the mirror in RL, and I can understand people needing to separate RL from the game, or taking breaks or whatever. But there's a ton of content in this game and I seriously doubt that many people come close to my participation level.
Having said that, the devs of this game really do make bad decisions in a vacuum, IMO. The latest 45 person per phase limit on the village crafting quest is a perfect example.
