Thread: Merchant Top 5 Issues
Everyone understands the difference. Attikus is just pointing out what the skill tree states, "management line grants the ability to place vendors not manage vendors."
Simple as that..... whether or not this is an exploit or how it should be is besides the point since the devs have already stated to this forum to come up with constructive ideas for dealing with this issue.
So it will be changed, it's up to you guys to be constructive as to how it will be changed as well as improve the merchant class. It seems to me the devs are ready to improve the merchant class, but you guys can't let this go and offer up new ideas...... you're gonna miss your chance.
No the text is not wrong - you are wrong
Thanks so much for that helpful tidbit. But that's the name of the skill tree where your vendors are. You're hiring skill bonuses? They effect WHAT you hire not how many. So your "hiring" skill has no bearing on vendors being placed either. Hiring has nothing to do with the problem. The skill we're talking about, that you get in the MANAGEMENT line is the Vendor skill. The one that let's you HAVE a vendor.
The names of the skill trees are not what grant you skills.... the skill mods within those skill tress are what grant you skills. PLEASE tell me this is a concept you conmprehend.
This is SWG 101.... come on people... learn the game before you post.
Skill Trees are some of the most arbitrary names in this game... do you think that the Carbineer skill tree names CounterInsurgency grants carbineers the ability to root our insurgents? LOL
oh man....
"We would like to see some suggested changes that would address this
situation. We agree in principle that Merchant Skills should not be
surrendered without the loss of the benefits of those skills."
This is in response to:
"Currently it is possible to give up practically all of your merchant
skills without having to give up the vendors that you received as a benefit
of those skills."
Is this clear enough for you? This is a B U G
There really isn't any point to continuing this discussion. Attikus you obviously don't agree that #5 is an issue at all and that will be made very clear when we complie our answer to the Top 5. Continuing to debate it doesn't really server any purpose. If I receive an official answer to your position that the skill in the Management line is "to place" a vendor and not to "manage a vendor" I"ll post it here. Until then I suggest we move on to generating more comments about #4 which is adding functionality to the vendors to support more robust business relationships.
