Thread: Merchants, Why do you stand for this outrage?

but you do pay the fee...some people have their vendors paid up for 6 months
Lucky for them they can withdraw maintenance.
I was refering to the proposed vendor caps. This could be a way to get make it tougher for the the non-merchants and non-business 3 people who are exploiting our vendors. If you dont have business 3, then your vendor cap is zero. At least people who wanted to sell would have to keep business 3.

BTW, if the vendor item count can go up as you master, why can't it go down to zero as you drop Bus 3? That would at least stop the most offensive cases, where the character has no Merchant or even Artisan skills, but still runs a large shopping mall.
Thats a very good idea. And it would be very easy to implement. No excuse on the Devs part as for it being too hard to implement.
And its definitly a step in the right direction.
It already does this your "manage vendor" skill goes down as you give up "Management" and then Novice Merchant and Business III. The problem is they only check it when you go to put down a new vendor.

That is an idea. If the majority of merchants on the forum would like to try to get that I'm all for it. I think many merchants don't really use the bazaar much but lets start a thread about this idea and get feedback on it. Pros and Cons of the concept.
yeah they are all to focused on their vendors....
maybe they dont use it because of all the caps...
The "merchants" may not use it but everyone else in the game does...i buy tons of stuff off the bazaar everyday...and i always have 25 items listed as well.
The point of merchant is to SELL SELL SELL...it doesnt matter where or how you do it...the point is to move goods
It is a good idea with merit. Merchants say they don’t use the bazaar much because the bazaar is designed to allow everyone to sell there. Of course merchants are more focused on their vendors. After all, vendors are the tools merchants get to use by paying these skill points.
Thinking on an unlimited credit cap on the bazaar. I would support it. However, unlimited is a big word. And therefore, I would support it as a Master Merchant skill.
all any of this is going to do is drive people to the Trade Forum and cut vendors and merchants out of the picture...
/agree
This is what has lead to so many empty vendors all over the place taking-up valuable disk space - the Devs should fix this to give everyone an easy life!
That's complete nonsense. People will never conduct all of their buying and selling on the trade forums. That's just foolish.
First of all, the players that actually read the boards are rather in a minority. Out of the six friends of mine that played I'm the ONLY one who reads the boards at all, much less posts with any regularity.
Secondly, people sell too many items to rely on auctions to selll EVERYTHING from every piece of armor, to every stich of clothes, to every stim pack, to every disease pack, to every spice crate, to every tool crate, to every subcomponent grind crate, to every stack of resources. Go back and read that sentence and count up how much of it is just listing stuff. And I didn't even get it all.
and they laughed at ebay too...
an online garage sale...bah...it will never take off
any one that goes up to placevendors then drops it forfiets that benefit...
example
You setup a trade deal with Bill the Chef
you agree to sell his goods and take 10%-15%
You go ahead and setup Vendor: Bills Burgers.
You drop your skills thinking yay i got a Sweet vendor with Master Chef Supplies.
Bill agrees and business goes on
Bill plagued by pandora's box wants to be a jedi and starts to grind holo's....
Bill drops Chef to free up skillpoints...
Now your frogged...
Bills Burgers is rendered Useless.
My Note to Crafters... If you seek a Trade deal with a Merchant.. Keep tabs on that merchant... if they drop the skills then i firmly believe that you are dealing with a person that is NOT working WITH you.
Pack up your stuff and Cancel your Trade Deal... a Master Merchant that IS a merchant like my self. Is and Will work with you to sell your stuff because a working Merchant is focused on selling your wares and will do what it takes... its there job.... its not the job of some flunky that wants Master Commando after they whent merchant.... Continuing a trade deal with an EX-Merchant is not benefitial
