Thread: Proposal for Updating Vendor Interface

Let me be the first to say these new changes that are happening about vendor limit is all about making more money for the greedy SWG corporation. No one was complaing about the vendor limits and therefore no changes should ofcame about. Bottom line is the greedy SWG corporation figured they could keep the costs down if they didnt have to spend more money on a bigger database. So when they try to tell u that its all for better game play, they are ful of it. ITS ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY!!!!!
Well they aint the Red Cross now are they, ofcourse it is about money. Or did you honestly think they don't want to profit from the game? How sweet.
And go whine about the item caps in another thread, this is for discussion about propsed changes to the interface. Vendor limits are coming wether you like it or not.

I know this is usually approached in the crafting of an item and in some cases in the inventory, however, I'm sure Tailors are not the only profession that require this useful tool. When we modify clothes we are not able to rename them appropriatly to sell them effectively.
While I recognize the need for tailors to name modified clothes: please no. Our guild's shop had a huge problem with people bulk buying our items for resale, so we ended up tagging all items with our guild's abbreviation and price in our shop. If renaming items was possible, we would have no chance of defending against resellers any more.

3. Fix the stockroom
As i understand the stockroom is currently suppose to hold items for 30 days. It often delets them after as few as 7. Also i've had several items which i "withdrew sale" on completely poof rather than going to stockroom (i lost nearly 1 mil in inventory from this in about 15 secondsonce... and that was just what i noticed).
This seems to be a common mis-conception, allow me to try and clarify.
The stockroom (where items go when the vendor does not sell them within 30 days) only holds items for 7 days. After 7 days, poof, your items are deleted without warning and you are onlynoitified after your items are deleted.
The 30 days, everyone seems to be confused about, is how long your vendor actually has your items listed for sale, then it goes to the stockroom (see above).
I hope this helps ![]()
Edit: As of Tuesday 9/7/04 the stockroom time limit will be updated to 30 days.

#1 - Allow items in the stock room to be relisted on ANY vendor in the local area. Moving large amounts of items between vendors is a REAL pain. I'd love to be able to select a group of items, select the vendor to list them on, and then input a price and it lists them all on the vendor i chose and the price i chose. I would "delist" items from one vendor and relist them on another all from the same screen. this would make moving items much easier.
#2 - allow us to specify a "CPU" for an item, a toggle switch so that i can select a group of resources, and tell it to list these for "3" CPU, or what ever. Would make it much much easier to list resources. (and crated items).
#3 Allow us to rename vendors!!!!!... so i dont have to go through the HUGE process of emptying a vendor.. putting up a new vendor with the new name.. and transferring items over... took me 9 days of at least 2 hours a day to transfer 4000 items between 2 houses next to each other..it was insane.
Other than those 3, everything else you've stated is a must have aswell. I REALLY hope we can get some changes like this.
"List resources in vendors as a full stack and let purchaser purchase 1k or 100k stacks according to their needs. (owner of vendor sets cpu prices and lowest increment for sale) immediately a resource vendor goes from 4pages to 50 lines, since stacks no longer need to be split onto the vendor"
" allow us to specify a "CPU" for an item, a toggle switch so that i can select a group of resources, and tell it to list these for "3" CPU, or what ever. Would make it much much easier to list resources. (and crated items)."
YES. I think instead of pricing per line, there should be a place to set a price for all items of that exact type for the vendor (or for all of your vendors.) So you can set a cpu price for a certain type of resource, and if you put more of that exact resource on the vendor, it is priced the same by default. Manufactured items would also benefit - anything from the same schematic (same serial) would get the same price. That would be much better functionality.
How hard can it be to list the default price in the 'sell item' window as the price that was stored with the item in the stockroom... At least that'd make refreshing the sales every month a bit more workable.
If this has already been discussed to death, please refer me to that thread if you could.
Thanks.
Mad.
- Onemain reason I would like to see something like this is when I am restocking. I do not go through all the emails that I get from sales because it would take way too long. If I had a tool to extract information on all the items on a vendor, then I could put it in an Excel sheet and sort. Thus, letting me see in a quick glance of what I needed to stock instead of going through each page of inventory. It takes a long time to do this and with such a busy RL... well something ends up neglected and it is usually my shop.
- I have 2 other co-owners and they help supply merchandise to my vendors. If I could do an extract by vendor, I could send them the inventory list which would give them an exact readout of what is missing from the vendor. They, in return, could craft what is needed and place in my shop for me to stock.
- Since there is only an extract being requested here, I cannot think of any drawbacks to havinga toollike this in place.
Thank you so much for listening to my thoughts. I am very happy to hearthe vendors will be more user friendly in the future. I know it will help me out significantly since I keep thousands of items on my 12 vendors.
Play hard and die with honor!

As someone already suggested one mail per day with all the items listed would be fine.
