Agree with Mogos. People will always find new ways.

Increasing max quantity of crates to 100 (and let us split and merge them) and increasing quantity for resource stacks from 100k to at least 1 million will reduce the number of items radically. It would also reduce number of items on vendors, at least for stuff like powerups (50 items in crates is what most people wold like).

There have been a lot of god suggestions on how to limit the number of items on vendors, like listing all identical items as one. This would also make it a lot easier to use vendors since it would be less to browse.

Main problem is bad design not player behaviour.

And they can always remove the ridiculous loot from the game (the rebel disks / imperial disks from act I, broken viewscreens and other useless stuff, that many people destroy, but many others put them on the bazaar) that should free up some DB space.

simple solutions

Grandfather existing vendors -- if you have the proper merchant skills-

delete (as many have said) vendors for those that dont have merchant skills -- As a master merchant from day 1 this is unaceptable -- you should only have vendors if you are a merchant --!!

Bringing this back up from the depths lest we forget our history.

150 items was the old proposal, now they are trying to give us even less!

Great way to remind us of how stupidly moronic the devs can be at times...Did any of them take economics? How's this...The US govt talks to SOE and says that they are selling too many products to the American Public, so their vendors (i.e. Best Buy, Gamestop, etc...) will only be able to sell100,000 products nationwide. Oh, and that's total, not per product. So that's 100,000 SWG, EQ, EAB, EQ2, FFXI, etc...nationwide. Oh and each store can only have a maximum of 20 products, have a nice day...Now would SOE stand up for that? No. So why should we?
