Where does SOE list the time limits for vendors stock room anyway? I've been trying to find it in my manual
You're very aware that the stuff in the book can change with each and every patch? You have the resources available to you (checking the past patch notes and knowledge base) on the SWG site...someone else already quoted it from the knowledge base even. If they can find it, so could have you.

Now, for those folks who have whole vendors disappear with millions worth of inventory on them, and the CSR verify that it DIDN'T run out of maintenance, but then tell you that they can't help you get your stuff, the materials back to make new stuff, or the rough equivalent in credits in value of what you had for sale back, is a shining example of Sony's sucky CS. =/

In my experience if your entire vendor vanished and never returns you can get compensation from CS. You have to work them a little but if you are firm and persistant (and polite) they usually give in and do something for you. It doesn't usually completely make up for it but it does usually keep you from begging for spare change in the cantinas.

This happened to me and this is what I think from my observations.

I don't know when they implemented the 7 day limit on the stockroom, but it did not work. Items would not be deleted from the stockroom after 7 days.

Then publish 7 went live, and they fixed it, so this is when my items started vanishing... 7 days after publish 7.

They could have at least said something in the patch notes, or included some sort of email message.

Also, from that CSR response earlier, that they can't return items, I have to disagree.

I still have my Items Recovred from Vendor bag from not that long ago...

Doc,

Love yah and ya got a level head, but "The CSRs can't return items" is just not a good policy to be pushing.

Maybe it's true that they resist, but I do not believe that they cannot find them in backups. Yes it might take time, and maybe too much time with the system they have, but they need to be expected to develop a better system for the return of items, or prevent them from leaving in the first place.

I mean, even EQ had item return implemented..*years* ago.

me and my friend on naritus have just lost 700-900 items, and not everyone knows the rules of the vendors, i have asked over 60 people and they all think u can store items in your vendor for as long as u like. i an not going to take this kind of **edit** from soe, where was the warning email sent to my friend stating that all itmes after 7 days would get deleted from the vendor storage. the devs just stole them items from us, and they dont give a **edit**. its there fault for not letting people know the rules of the vendors. if i dont get my items back i will be canceling all my accounts and so will my friend but i doubt the csr's give a **edit** anyway.

And you were dumb for not checking into it when it's been shown to have been around in FAQs, the KNowledge Base, etc...Ignorance of the rules isn't an excuse in real life, nor is it in game - you have eyes, hands, and a brain - don't be a damn monkey - use em and learn before appearing to be stupid. And yes, I'd tell the same to the 60 people you supposedly asked, too...

As for it being "...their fault for not letting people know the rules of the vendors..." - it's in the damn knowledge base, had you bothered to even fricking look, you'd have known, idiot.

I'm not pushing the policy it is a fact. I didn't address whether they should be able to or not. Obviously when I lose stuff I want it back in the same condition I lost it in. The fact is that they can't do that right now without dev involvement which is very expensive from a resource standpoint. I would like to see them develop a system to retrieve items as well but until then "CSR's Can't Return Items" is the policy.

Yes, people should probably RTFM, but when the manual is only available on-line, and when you are on-line you want to be playing the game, there is a bit of a problem. On top of that, the organization of the manual is, at best, horrible. Whenever I have tried to find specific information it takes so long to sort through things, that I usually end up being kicked out of the game for standing in one place too long. (Granted, though, I am usually trying to find some obscure miniscule bit of information that Sony evidently considers proprietary)

Why don't we have the manual available as a really nice set of web pages that is available outside of the game, with an easy way of moving around between topics, and being able to use it without the abyssmal lag that always occurs in the game? Blizzard did it quite well for Diablo, and that should have become an industry standard for dissemenating information to the players.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

Ok..it is real simple to me. Sony is a thief. We all pay hard earned money to play the game and when Sony has a server problem WE pay the price. When an entire vendor vanishes along with all of the stock..which normally means a couple of months hard work.....and Sony(as they happily take your credit card number) tells you that you might be lying.... something is wrong. They are stealing our time. Every time they do a roll back we loose that playtime that we have paid in real dollars for...and Sony has the nerve to tell us we could be lying......even if we where, which usually is not the case, Sony owes us money for the loss of real time game play.....Sony stole my vendor and all of its contents and then says it could be my fault or i could be lying....bah. I wonder if a class action suit is in order.
