As this game is real time, our time ingame is also limited. People want to go have fun. People want to go hunt with their new t21, or go to a party dressed in their new gown. People do not want to spend the majority of their time running around to vendor after vendor and not finding the item(s) they are searching for.
Zina, yer post only supports the reason why this change will occur.
The statement above be an example. Though customers do not like it, SOE does. Time be on the side of the SOE marketin' machine. If it takes people longer to get thin's that they need, that's less time they're gain' xp and money. That means people will have to spend more time to get the xp and credits they want. Longer times, means more months of play, more months, means more revenue.
The Item Limitation will happen. Its a matter of figurin' out what the proper number be.
I do see 110 as a very real possibility. It has many good benefits towards it.

I do see where you are coming from, but I see could see the exact opposite happening. Time is on the side, and if it takes longer to do things, people with only a few hours of playing time a week may decide to not play SWG anymore. But i guess this boils down to something that has been said over and over, SOE caters to the powergamer.
I guess it really boils down to how much someone wants to play SWG. If someone really wants to play, running around to 50 stores wont stop them from playing. But everyone can agree shopping is fun. I found some 995/940 oq/pe avain meat on a tatooine vendor about 2 weeks ago. The stuff has to be 9 months old lol. Just finding stuff like that is worth shopping. Its almost like antique shopping. But take that away, and the shopping will be a lot different sadly. oops, just got a bit sidetracked.
If ye can get people hooked and hold out carrots, then time becomes the stick. Granted some people will leave, but by human nature, people will want to finish and get the carrot(s). Overall it was a good business plan, but has become outdated as new competitors are comin' forth. The new starport times be an example of this. Fewer people are stayin' and additional some people will leave to pay fer the products out there. To minimize the losses and stay competitive, the ship times have been decreased (very significantly I must admit).
Now with this decrease of time fer travelin', will the strategy be that time must be taken up with other thin's? Perhaps, perhaps not. If the vendor limit be at 300, then indeed the old business plan has been changed, but if the limit be under 200, then the business plan has remained the same.
Fer example, there are no such thin's as an initial free service or consultation. A company will make up the loss revenue from the free services/consultations in the actual service agreement or product. Just a matter of marketin' and bussiness strategy.
