Be prepared to get a very annoying spam if you enter Theed.

Rather than pay the insane fees you're putting on my vendor, i'm going to sell them all in a long series of yells. Everytime one of them sells, i'll remove it from the macro until the next day. No way i'm selling these crates of clamps on the bazaar for 3000 creds.

I have an even better idea... how bout i whore myself out on the streets for various weaponsmiths? Give me your items, i'll sell them for you and i'll only take 30% of the sales.

Who needs a vendor?

Let's use a 100,000 credit total value figure, that's about 33 items that cost 3k each. With the formula proposed, I would have to sell 7-8 of those items a week just to pay my vendor dues. Have you kids been trying to read the US Tax Codes again!?!?!

What you are proposing is a merchan'ts tax, plain and simple. As a tax payer on my planet I get to enjoy (?) certain perks for paying my taxes. If you impose this "merchant's tax" would I get better roads out to my house? Public transportation maybe? How about a Public Safety department to patrol around the area and keep myself and my customers safe from harm? School system? Public parks? Anything?!?

All kidding aside, you want money sinks to make up for previous errors. I can understand this. Think youhave some wonderful money sinks in place already!! The problem is that the best of them are sitting on the workbench waiting for a fix to be found so they can be used.

  • Insurance-- FREE!!-- Pesky bug just won't die so you give us free deaths.

  • NPC vendors --FREE!!-- You've been taking lessons from the US Government again here. Leaving the free vendors in game when you want to earn money. (Sounds like a govt. worker don't you think?)

  • Training -- Nearly free!-- I get and like the whole apprentice concept, but it still needs work.

Before looking for a new place to break something, can we get the existing money sinks working first? Once you do that if more money still needs to be pulled from game vendor taxing may be a good spot for it. If the existing sinks work as intended I can bet you won't need to taxmerchants 22.4% on our wares to get the job done!

Amen to that lol

That's ok, soon I'll have my first million credits in the bank. I then plan to move off that hot Tatooine and retire to some nice place like Naboo. I'll build me a nice large homenear the water and fish all day. Of course that won't last to long since the house maintenance fees will eat that million fast lol

Aye, I definitely can see that the entire purpose of this has nothing to do with 'sinking money' but 'cutting database'. They don't want people to have a full range of items on their vendor, apparently. But then, without a full range of items, nobody sells any of said items. So they want vendors to be useless. ugh. I started a shop on tatooine recently, selling all sorts of stuff for my guild. I don't overstock it, I keep it just right to keep the sales going. I'm sitting there with a tiny bit of everything, not a huge amount, some armor, some food, some meds, etc. I sell like crazy every single day. Huge business, high volume of customers. But I already figured it out. They put this in, I'll be negative money within four hours, easily. My vendors won't give me my stuff back, no doubt, so I'll lose all the items (which btw are other peoples items in my guild *sighs*) and be sitting there broke. I sell a heck of a lot, like 60-80 items a day, and I can't afford it. So who can? Who is this meant to put out of business? It doesn't touch the 1 cred storage people, not a bit.

It kills my little corner store, it kills the sixty or more players I know who depend on me for almost all their items, it kills this little economy fueling the anchorhead/bestine wars. It kills these player's chances of finding everything they need around, ever, before they use up what they have anyway. It doesn't just hurt me, it hurts the entire community. I feel sick, like I'm about to throw up. Maybe I should just mail all my customers now explaining to them that SOE doesn't want them to have good supplies to have fun with, SOE doesn't want them to be able to get anything they need for the PvP battles which are already a good quality money sink. As far as I know, most crafters are still poor...why are we money sinking the crafters, when the fighting community is still NOT poor despite what they've done so far? I still hear notes of 'we better charge more, or the fighters will get bored because there is nothing to spend their money on', and its true. What is going on here? The crafting and business side was, to my view, the original big dream of this game. Where crafting is a viable profession. They're killing the dream. Killing the game.

Give this fee system a week, and we'll all be running around just killing stuff. It'll be like diablo online, but suck more because the combat isn't as exciting. And we'll all be running around in bone armor with cdefs...because there certainly won't be vendors around selling anything else, and what crafters still exist will tell us to pay a million credits for better, because their stuff will be so few and far between, it'll be worth that much. After all, spending all that time talking to each customer, means they aren't crafting anything or finding resources. I'm getting geared up for my five hundred thousand dollar dx2 now...

Vendor fees are killing me. It costs 30k per week just to keep items in my vendor. That's a whole set of Ubese armor that I will have to sell just to keep my vendor running. I only sell about 2 or 3 suits per week.

Items in my vendor include 2-3 suits of Ubese armor, advanced chitin armor, padded armor, and some personal shields.

Oh for the love of god will you STOP with the nerf bat already. Fix the classes first then worry about forcing us to waste more time on time sinks.

I am so sick of the nerf bat flying and the ONE class I expected to be immune to the nerf bat was the **edit** merchant. Whats next Entertainer nerfs?

Arrgh! As if it weren't bad enough. I'll tell you what. I'll accept a maintenance fee on my vendor when you charge a marksman a maintenance fee every time he fires his gun or a medic heals a patient. It's pretty much equivalent, isn't it? Those are the tools of their trade, the vendor is the tool of my trade. I think it's insulting that you have set up a game where there is supposed to be a PLAYER run economy, yet in so many instances it has become a DEVELOPER run economy. On the one hand, you want a money sink. On the other hand, you just increased the amount and frequency of loot. Didi you guys come from the Federal government? It's about as ridiculous as many of the schemes they come up with. If you really want to promote a player economy, make vendor fees decrease as people skill up the merchant class. If you are worried about people using vendors as storage, the answer is simple. Charge a high fee for vendors which do not sell anything. Set it at a 100 cr a weekk and knock off 100 cr for each item sold. That will penalize somone who's using it as storage and not hurt the guy who is selling a couple items a day. Yes, there will be ways to work around it, but the type of player who would exploit this will always find a work around. You are penalizing people who are trying to make things work while not affecting those who are trying to exploit the system. This economy is 2 months old. It may be out of whack in certain areas, but it generally works. I can find items reasonably priced if I look around. And I have consistently passed on savings to customers as I get more efficient. The logical outcome of what you propose is that I simply charge more for what I sell to make up for the maintenace fee. From what I have seen, this will kill my vendor business and slow my bazaar business. All of which will only reward the people who are charging inflated prices for their goods. Finally, please explain to me why you need a money sink. Monetary economics are pretty easy to understand. As a population grows, the money supply should grow proportionally. If this is not the case, you control the money supply. Simply slow the rate of growth of credits. If you are concerned that some players have too much money, create something they can spend it on that will take money out of the system. What you prpose to do with vendors will simply promote an economy with a few top dogs and a bunch of peons. Don't punish merchants for trying to provide goods and services. Allow us to thrive and build a real economy.

stIf you are going to "fix" the vendor maintainence, then you need to fix vendor functionality. It's hard to draw people to my shop if my vendor (which I'll be paying increased maintainence for) unregisters every morning.

No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

Remember... to Cancel you have to go to Register Expansion in the Launchpad.

This game already has gotten so many bad reviews, so you won't be getting many new player.

Now you want to hurt your loyal subscribers? Wow! That's good business!

You know how this will be the last straw for so many people already fed up with the game?

This game will have nothing left but combat players running around, that is until they can't find new guns to buy because no one will be around selling them anymore.

Real smart.

stNot that I expect dev's to read all the way back here, but for my 2 cents...

Turn over is based off of (to name a few):

Profession (weapons are hot, food is not)
Skill level (masters get pref always, even for low lvl items)
Reputation (or lack there of)
Pricing and business skills

Basically taxing based on turnover is terribly unfair to those who are already struggling. Ie, the low lvl, unpopular professions, people who are just starting out. Life is difficult for them already. Taxing for those who are already rich and have a successful business won't even bat an eye. So basically the rich will keep getting richer and the poor (or casual player) will cancel their account.

The only proposed drain I think would be fair is the sales tax. A flat percetange is taken from every sale, any only a marginal price is maint. Whats nice is that the tax can scale as the worth of the item goes up, and or it can scale depending how the GCW goes.

Anyways, my 2 cents.
