What's the maintenance rate?


10cr per hour with Eff IV. Otherwise, it's 12cr per hour.

This doesn't make sense to me. If you truly have to have Efficiency IV to place and own a Tent the Maintenance cost should be static. This seems to indicate you can drop Eff IV and keep your tent at higher maint costs or you don't really need to have Eff IV to own a tent.


Am I not thinking about this correctly?

they changed this a couple months ago. you used to be able to build right outside of outposts, but they changed the build zones so that they are similar to the other cities. any houses that were built there before this was implemented were allowed to stay. that's why you see houses close to the outpost even though it won't let you build there.

That makes sense, but only if you want to make the Tent a special situation from every other structure. Why do that, it requires more coding and therefore more areas that can become problems. They most likely set the "default" maintenance high enough that the "discounted" maint was where they wanted it to be.




This could also indicate that at one time it was lower in the Effiency tree or in another tree and they moved it in development. It was always Eff IV in testing I believe.
