I know that merchant xp is buggy, but I've had out 3 vendors for almost 4 days, and every day my friend browses the vendors and runs through houses with access fees. Yet, I still haven't even gotten 10k xp, and I should have at least 50k xp. What the hell is going on????????

Draz, thanks for the thurough guide. As someone who received this as a holo, I appreciate the honesty you show by having the Pwer Leveling section.

One question, I'm starting the profession tonight, but was lucky enough to have enough XP already from previous things to be at Bus 1 when I learned Artisan. For you crafting macro, does it have to be survey tools? I only ask because I was mastering Sword & CH previously & have a TON of hides, bones, & meats. Is there any particular resaon survey tools are better, or can I craft other things like tents, traps etc that I can use my materials for?

I was trying to see what the merchant tent colors looked like, so I clicked on your links to them. Unfortunetaly:

Access Denied (Usage Limit)

The owner of this file has exceeded their daily usage limit.

Is it possible to find another source to view them? I really do need to know which one looks the most "red" in overall color.

This was amazing I loved it Cheers. I found one thing I do not understand. The Crafting Macro. I know that once you get to novice merchant u don't need crafting but I am going for novice tailor aslo. I can't get the crafting macro to work. I click the macro and it just pauses for a sec and says "The Crafting Session Has Ended" twice then it keeps saying it (cause of the macro repeat). But I don't under stand. it doesn't tell me to do my resources at all. BTW I think mine is bugged. I tried to find the right /set## and I almost ALWAYS came up with a simple waist wrap. I wanted the travel pack. but besides those things this guide ROCKS. I wish the little booklet I got with my special Edition SWG would be this in deapth. Or at least my friends strategy guide should be. Also BTW the frustration with ur macro made me buckle down and grind with mine it went faster with 4 crafting stations lol but fingers got tired and I am homeshooled and had to do school. Oh well Signing out...

The XP cap is supposed to be the same for everything.

50% of the way to the next highest box.

So if you are at level 1 and heading to level 2 and need 2000 XP, and the next level beyond that is 5000XP, you would take 1/2 of 5000or 2500 and add it to the xp for the box before that (2000), which would leave you with a max at that point of 4500XP.

Now... I have noticed that not all caps seem to follow this rule. So while I cannot answer your EXACT question, hopefully this will give you a ballpark of where it SHOULD be. =)

Youneed a total of 546 hours. That is approx. 23 days.

Take into consideration the daily downtime, patches, the time you spend to find

trainers when climbing the Management tree, xp bugs etc, and you can probably

raise that to 30 days.

Then, take into consideration that you will get xp from visitor and browers, and

you can lower that to 25 days. That of course depends on how active you are

marketing your vendors, how many friends you have, if you pay newbies to

visit your vendor every so often etc. Can differ a lot. But I would say 25 days

average.

The cool thing about this, is that while getting xp for doing just about nothing,

at least compared to many other profession, you can grind 1 or maybe 2

other basic profession and maybe an elite. Just simply awesome

This isway better thanany crafting or entertaining. I just finished dancer, and

that was a pain. I was hoping for a combat profession from my Holo, but hey...

If you get merchant xp offline, this isnt so bad at all.

First of all, outstanding guide that clearly deliniates how Merchant XP is accumulated.

I apologize for the partial thread hijack, but I must strenously disagree with the above statementon this prof being a good grind profession. I do respect those merchants that are able to produce and sell products but the profession is the worst in the game for grinding. 23 days to grind a profession is a good thing? Think about it, that is time that those boxes cant be used for anything other than (for grinders) placeholders. Also, other than using tricks with houses, it is not possible to accelerate progression through this prof.

Of the 32 profs in the game, this prof will be number 30 in the grind sequence, not becuase I don't like it, but because it will take that long.

Yes but think of all the other crafting professions you COULD grind in that time, and ALSO you'd have something to sell your wares on. Grinding goods are useful to actual practitioners of the professions, you know. So while you're not doing anything mastering merchant you can master other professions and make money.
