I enjoy being a Merchant.
I don't have much time to play, and every time I log in, all my play time is spent dealing with vendor stock, namely, trying to put stuff back up for sale. I have a lot of my own stuff and I inherited another shop's stock, so it's a lot of work, even after selling a lot of stuff off.
I never get to be a Ranger anymore!
So, Sony, I will give you a dollar--a whole SHINY NEW DOLLAR--for a restock button. Especially if we can shift-click with it.
Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase? I've been good all year.

I believe the dim-bulb Devs are attempting to punish Merchants for having vendor items expire, on the idiotic assumption that thisnearly alwayscaused by excessive pricing. Merchants must then go through a long, painful, manual process to resell the expired items.
Unless items are being sold at giveaway prices there are many reasonsitems could have expired besides excessive prices -- too many competing vendors locally, vendor being located in a city that is not frequented by enough Players, etc.
Restocking my vendors with new resources and reselling old resources that have expired eats up a huge fraction of my playing time.
I would suggest a restock button that would require a mandatory discount of x%(10%, 20%, not sure what it should be) on expired items, all of which would be restocked with the mandatory discount imposed. The merchant could then increase prices on restocked items as desired.
This would help merchants by allowing them more playing time to do more enjoyable things, and help non-merchants by having more items out of vendor storerooms and into vendor sales windows where they are accessible.
I know sometimes I have let vendor items rot invendor storerooms until the last few days before expiration, being deterred by the awful task of having to resell the expired items manually. My guess is that this helps cause the many empty or near-empty vendors I see in SWG when I have to go shopping ingame.
Thank You,

I dont understand why items on a vendor need to expire in the first place!
Then we wouldnt need a restock button!!!!!

I couldn't agree with indefinite sales more. As a shipwright, I already have plenty of other problems to deal with, but sitting at the mall for an hour to force-feed off-sale items back into my vendors is by farthe worst, not to mention my storage vendors. I understand that others have spent over 5 hours restocking.
Anyway, this post is the reason that I registered on the forums. I don't know the rules of this forum, but I believe this post should be made sticky.

yeah just lost a Nab sculpture base section 4 and gold plating because of this stupid system. It doesn't even sort the expiring items properly !
For 3 months now I've dropped non sold items about 5% each time I've had to relist them just so my list gets smaller each time.
Playing a Master Merchant and Master Shipwright on two galaxies it takes too muchto relist !!
If you want my station access dollars then give me a relist option !!

300,000 accounts on SWG(I think, somewhere around there)
I'd say atleast 75-100k of those accounts... people deal with merchants...
ok, lets say, 50,000 people are merchants, just to make it even smaller...
An average of what... 1 hour a month? 2 hours a month...
at one hour a month(modest)... 50,000 hours SWG Wastes on something that can be improved in such a little ammount of time, that would illiminate 95% of that 50,000 hours...
50,000 hours
2083 and 1/3 days
5.7038 years (.7 years is approxmately 257 days)
5 years 257 days worth of time is wasted every month...
if we all gave up merchant, and donated that time to someone that worked at McDonalds for minimum wage... lets say 6.50/hr, 325,000 dollars...
So, we can thus say, SWG is stealing 325,000 dollars from the community...
hahahaha, you like how my math works? I think i would be a good lawyer...

I would give my first born child for a restock button - I average 10 hours monthly to restock, not to mention the hours I spend just crafting in general to keep my armor stock supplied.

Chop Chop! Hurry it up! Maybe if we spam the devs enough, they'll give in to our demands, maybe the way they gave into less intelligent demands. I will continue bumping this post until the devs give us some attention.
