Thread: I'm curious is anyone a Pure Merchant?
I want to sell to alot of different people. That is my fun, not the credits and being completely anonymous, because my vendor was always empty because this guy was clearing it out every time I restocked it. And so when people would come to my shop, they see its empty and leave. I found his vendor in a very busy and popular mall selling my items at a huge markup. And in the meantime my shop was empty of customers because he had all my business.
So I will just repeat what I said in relation to why people don't want you reselling their items. We did not buy this game and pay our monthly dues just to be YOUR employee. That's boring, lame, and is a job, not a play experience. I am a Master Merchant/crafter because I want to be in control of my own shop, to interact with customers, to try to keep up with restocking the various items that have sold instead of my whole stock every couple days, which leaves me time to explore and whatnot. So yeah, there's why.
We are not here to be your employees, have some respect and don't clear out our vendors.
The part about where you get upset because you sold your merchandise at the price you had requested.

I think you mistake underpricing your product for being an employee. If someone else buys it and marks it up and still sells it, you have it priced too low for retail. But you still get to decide what the price is, and that makes you a wholesaler, not an employee.
So, you should raise your prices, or sell individually rather than on a vendor, or just let people buy what they want for whatever purpose they have in mind, even if it is resale.

1 account. I also have fun with my single character as a master combatant and a master crafter...though I don't sell anything I craft.
Then you are not a PURE merchant, by definition.

Balkstar is a true merchant. He has no combat abilities to speak of, so his main income source is the spices he makes, and any slices he is able to fanagle off the streets.
I have stated a new character, however. Coosin is a Fencer that keeps my combat skills honed. With the exception of a 50k grant at the beginning of the game, a house, and free slices from Balkstar, the 2 accounts are completely independent and don't rely economically between each other.
Pure merchant? Sounds like a smuggler to me.

By "Pure" Merchant, do you mean a full on Master and not a dabbler?
I personally on my main consider myself a businessman, but not a full on merchant. I have Novice Merchant and that is about all I can afford to get - what with being a Master Smuggler, Master TK, Novice Armorsmith, Novice Weaponsmith. Only leaves me with around 5 skill points left with which to dabble with. I'd love to master merchant, but I just am not willing to give up Master Smuggler or Master TKA to be able to PVE.
Personally, I think anyone that calls themselves a PURE merchant either only has skillpoints in that profession (plus the artisan requirements) and conducts themselves as SOLELY a merchant, not a crafter/looter selling things they craft/loot.
I've only met one on Tempest that was successful in over a year.

What part of you put it up for sale and I bought it are you having trouble with? In RL anyone who owns a business and sells a product or service knows one thing. They are working for the customer. If you dont want to be someones employee don't put stuff up for sale. Give it to people at random or your guild. You could of course try rasing your prices.
I was banned from a shop once cause I would buy the stuff (not buy out all of it) and resell it on the bazaar for a nice profit. I concluded the seller had not been raised in a land of oppertunity and so I sent in other players to buy the stuff and sell it to me. I than sold it on the Bazaar. Thus helping newer players get started earning money in SWG instead of begging for it.

P.S. I did contact the shop owner and offer to buy direct rather than thru the vendor. The owner refused. I moved on and profited by assisting other players and other shop owners instead.
