Thread: Current Vendor Bugs
Here's a bug:
Right after merchant tents were put in the game I placed one outside of my house and dropped a merchant in it just to see how it looked (I didn't initialize the vendor). After about 1 minute the vendor just plain vanished and never came back. I even tried redeeding the tent, but nothing. To this date, almost two months later, I still cannot place my last vendor now because that vendor still exists somewhere and I have no way of firing him to get him back. Yes, I submitted a ticket, but it still hasn't been resolved.
I'd love to have my vendor come back someday.
I didn't see thisscenario posted. This happened when I was trying to create a new vendor and remove my original one.
1. Withdrew all items for sale so they appeared in the stockroom.
2. Created new vendor.
3. All items placed in stockroom on original vendor were visible in the stockroom on the new vendor as usual.
4. put all stockroom items up for sale on new vendor.
5. Removed original vendor.
6. All items I just put up for sale on new vendor were gone.
7. The CSR who responded to my ticket said that this was working as intended.
Its seems he may not have understood exactly what I meant so I decided to list the events with numbers. I guess I'll copy this post into a new ticket. Anyone have any thoughts on this.? Thanks.

The CSR is right. It is working as intended even though it is confusing and annoying. You can't transfer items from one vendor to another from the stock room. The only way to move an item from one vendor to another is to retrieve it and put it up for sale on the new vendor. When you put the items back up for sale they went for sale on the old vendor. When you deleted it you deleted the items as well.

Yea I almost fell victim to this too, but I was paranoid and checked the new vendor using the button for listing items only on that vendor, and they weren't on the new one, but still on the old one. Part of the confusion is that the radio button keeps reverting back to "This Region" instead of "This Vendor" so you are always looking at all your stuff in local vendors instead of just the one.
Oh well. At least they finally reimbursed me when they couldn't get my items out of the broken vendor.

Tried to place my first vendor today (Master Artisan) for like 15 times, neither the bulky nor the droid style initialite tho i choose this option from the vendor control menu. Also tried the way one gave in this forum and also logged out for about 30 mins. After choosing initialite Vendor i get an information message, but whenever (no matter how short or long i wait and if i pay maint or not) i go "Use Vendor" it says it has not been initialized. Is there any new info about what i can do to have the vendor work?

Just the various ways we have in that post. Try deleting the vendor from your inventory. Creating a new one. Log out to the login screen and log back in immediately. Then place the vendor.

I'd beenhaving the same problem, and I don't know if it's voodoo or luck or something else, but I've now placed 7 or 8 vendors over a two week period with no problems. Each time I follow this process, so you can try it and see if it works for you.
1) log in, wait for at least a few minutes doing other stuff.
2) Create the vendor, wait about 30 seconds before placing it
3) Place it, wait at least 20 seconds
4) Use radial menu to initialize it, then don't touch it for at least 20 seconds
5) Use the radial to pay exactly 100cr maintenance. Again wait 30 seconds or so
6) Use the radial to select USE VENDOR
7) after it works, go ahead and pay more maintenance
Don't ask why it works, but it has so far. Every time I deviate by either paying a lot of maintenance up front (I used to start with 1000) or by double-clicking before initializing it, or by double-clicking to use (instead of radial) something goes wrong and it never initializes. Sounds like superstition, and it may be. I can only say no problems in awhile now.
Sometimes payment of sales takes place rather long after the sale was made. This used to be never longer then 24 hours, but last days the time it takes is getting longer and longer, longest ever encountered was 72 hours after the sale:
Monday: Player buys Item X for Ammount Y
Monday: Email is received player bought Item X for Ammount Y
...
...
...
Tuesday...
...
...
...
Wednesday...
...
...
...
Thursday: Ammount Y finally arrives in Merchant's bank deposit.
I personally don't regard it as a "biggy" normally, but since I nowadays "move" around 20 to 30 mln credits of merchandise each week(buy for 20, sell for 30) it can become very tight at times.

Here's one I experienced yesterday, and may have experienced before without realising.
I was checking my vendors' maintanance, topping them upto 5k each. After paying I noticed the payment message in my system messages, and checked the status on the vendors directly after payment to verify that it was topped upto a little over 5k.
Several minutes later I check the maintainance status again on one of the vendors I had topped up, and it was back to the pre-top up value. I went back over the system messages to confirm that I had paid that vendor, and also checked my other vendors. One other vendor had also eaten the maintainance I'd just paid.
Now I'm wondering if this has happened before. Most notably over the Xmas break, when I'd paid quite a bit of maintainance to make sure my vendors stayed in shape and had come back to find several at 5k or more less maintainance than they should have been. At the time I thought I'd just forgotten to pay maintainance on them. But now I think it's possible it was eaten shortly after i paid it.

The only defense I have for the CSR is that they deal with people all day long who are being less than honest with them. It is easy to get into a mindset where everyone is lying to you if you aren't very very careful. The best thing I can suggest is to remain calm and give them as much information as you have. If you aren't happy with the decision of the first CSR say so in your ticket and wait for them to contact you. If you get 2-3 other CSR's telling you the same thing you are likely up against some rule they have set up and probably wont' get anything from them. But sometimes the second CSR will be able to help you where the first one couldn't/wouldn't
Doc - you have listed my current issue. I have two vendors with problems...the first does not even show up in the tent though it is listed as one of my vendors. The second is there but it says I can't see it...I have already initialized it so it can't be moved or removed.
