Supporting "mom and pop" stores is probably what SOE think they are doing but it will most certainly work the opposite.

I and my partner are probably selling more weapons than any other ws on our server (Wanderhome). We are two MWS that work together as "one company". My partner has vendor in Coronet and I have vendors on Naboo in my player city.

if this will go through, what will we do? Probably the best thing to do is instead to put 12 vendors in one location and split stuff up on different specialized vendors (probably could have a separate vendor just for T21s lol). This will make it possible to continue to have fully stocked vendors carrying a full sortiment. This is not what the sole weaponsmith can do (at least not if not getting an alt account for merchant). Thank you SOE for incrasing our market position. You have just destroyed a lot of our competitors. Our reputation of always being stocked will be even more true after this change.

...but, don't you think this change will be good news for the casual crafter?

Just a couple points:

1. Now, there is a goal for the casual crafter: keep your vendor fully stocked. Since the item limits are pretty low, its a very attainable goal and the casual crafter won't have to spend all that much time crafting to reach it and might be more motivated because of that.

2. The day of the one-stop hardcore shops are gone. Everybody has a favorite weaponsmith on their server that they know will be stocked with what they are looking for. Now, people might have to shop around a bit more. This will get the casual crafter's vendor's more traffic. There won't be a "Wal-mart" taking over the mom-and-pop stores if you will pardon the parallel.

1. Why lower the standard for everyone else to the level of a casual crafter?.... Im a master architect, master chef, and master artisan. I have 10's of millions of units of resources, and can produce hundreds of items at a time.. I am no casual crafter. I have an average of 70 sales a day. Its almost a full time job just to keep my vendors stocked. This is just going to take away my ability to keep well stocked vendors.

2. Yes, but.. Why not encourage the "casual" crafter to produce better items. Again, you are lowering the standard to please the casual crafter.. I take this as an insult..
