Why would we want to be forced to buy from people with that elitist attitude?

Because that is how economics really work .... try to buy a computer from Commodore or book a flight on PanAm. Yup ... that was sure elitist attitudes that took them down.

Would it be elitist to say that if a new player attacked a Krayt and was killed that he should have expected to die?

Everyone who pays his/her monthly fee to SOE has the right to run a shop, no matter how successful or unsuccessful he/she is.

DB issue? Vender 'storage' storage abuse? Then make it worth while to be a merchant......being a merchant allows low cost, high inventory priviledges and that should take skill points!!! Merchants should not be punished....those who are not should pony up and not have access tocheap, efficientvenders. I have devoted skill points to this class, and it should pay off! This nerf kills the profession as far as I am concerned.

Wait, are you saying that I can no longer go down to the small business computer store and buy a no-name computer? Are there no more commuter airlines? Are you saying that because they have a small inventory and a small customer base that they are not "serious" about their work?

The small business should have just as much of a chance as a large business - if a small business fails, it should be on the merits of their work, not on artificially high vendor maintenance.

Just because I don't physically click the buttons doesn't mean I don't see exactly what she does and what she goes through. As for the gemstone, we've had 4 green diamonds so far, and 3 vertex...but thats just my server.

I understand coming up with that 1 or 2 rare resources is a pain and I understand that each profession presents it's own problems and solutions, but I think that hearing that I should either suck it up or quit...from a tailor...is just ridiculous seeing as it's one of the least resource demanding professions. Thats nothing against your profession, it still requires patience and dedication, but the overhead costs are slightly different and there is no real failure on a tailored item unless it's a critical failure and you lose the items, as experimentation has no real factors at all and you can critically fail all your experiments and still have a full color palette and nothing is lost except the time it took to experiment.

That is not the case with other crafting professions as you well know. I like tailors, i think they're great...and I'm just glad they can make wookiee clothing...but it's ridiculous to see a tailor pipe up about dealing with the changes when his initialcost is MUCH lower. 100 of his items all added together and 100 of my items added together are VERY different numbers.

i agree with you totally. however, most of the problems us tailors are complaining about aren't overhead or initial cost, but that to keep a nice variety of clothing in our vendors, our maintainance will skyrocket. for example, i stock some harder to sell items (sadly, that's pretty much anything non back that's not a duster/pants/shirt/gloves), since from time to time a customer might just want a flightsuit in yellow. however, i willlose almost 2k on this item alone if i don't sell it by a week using the new formula.

last time i tried to guesstimate, we have about 230 sellable items (ie actual clothing, not components), just to stock 1 of each is already a lot... our item counts can easily reach a few hundred, if now a thousand. i just don't feel that it's fair for us tailors if we are penalized for offering a large variety

PercentFees should be levied at point of sale.

This seems so logical and correct that it has been a source of shock to me that this is not how it works.

This would ensure that the casual merchants can still enjoy being a merchant.. and I will point out that this is a GAME where we have FUN. Its not for you to tell someone they cant enjoy an aspect of the game even if they are not as succesful you think they should be.

The punishment for making less sales is.. making less sales. Less money is earned. The punishment shouldnt be loss of your ability to pursue your chosen in-game vocation.

If a combat character lost 10,000 xp a day, and had to struggle all day to try to make more then 10k xp.. well.. this would be great for an elite few since they will be the sole pursuers of their combat. However.. the majority of players would have to give up combat. Should a player be forced out of a combat profession because they cant earn the same amount of xp in a given time period then a more accomplished player? No.. they should be able to enjoy the game at whatever lskill and time level they are able to bring to it..

Fees and penalties should be set up so they promote fair and balanced play for ALL players. Flat maintenance fees on vendors is contrary to this, and is hurting the game.

Artuk

What I want to know is:

Why do I need to take this seriously?

This is supposed to be a game folks. Clue into that.
