I'd rather that once you drop the profession all of your vendors only have remove options available, save the one you get at business 3

OK, let's try this.
I make Business3 in Artisan, I place a vendor. Everything's fine, right?
I make Novice Merchant, place my 2nd vendor. Ok, fine.
I get Management 1, place my 3rd vendor.
Now, I decide I don't want Mgmt1 any more, and unlearn the skill. People argue that they should be able to keep their 3rd vendor because the skill says "place an additional vendor".
Ok, fine. Here's where the logic goes south quickly.
I RELEARN Management 1. I should be able to PLACE another vendor, right? For 4 vendors? Because it's the ability to PLACE an additional vendor, not how many are in use at once, right?
Surrender skill, relearn, and have an inifinite number of vendors.
Or else sit back and admit that, regardless of the wording on the "Skill Descriptions for Dummies" text, the +1 Vendor (what the actual skill appears as) means OPERATE (x) VENDORS.
Either the Vendors (+x) skill is intended to be the maximum number of active vendors, or it is intended to allow you to place an infinite number of vendors one at a time.
Absurd? Yes. But that's the net effect of the argument.
At Artisan:Business3, I can PLACE an INFINITE number of vendors. However, I can only have one ACTIVE at a time. To have a 2nd vendor active, I need to have Vendors: +2 on my skill list. The fact that I can place 6 vendors and then lose all the skill points with no effect on the vendors I placed originally is due to (a) programmer oversight, and (b) the devs not wanting to deal with people who lose items if they do delete vendors for people who should not have them any more.
Once again, I urge you to read the actual "Current Skill" line in your Skills window. It will say Vendors: +1 all the way up to Vendors: +6. it doesn't say "Place Vendors: +1". The text description of the skill in the tree view is simply, as is so often the case, misleading, and the people who want to use 3/4 of the Merchant profession's abilities forzero skill pointswant to read that text the way that benefits them the most.
You want to be a Merchant? Spend the skill points. Don't want to spend the points? Don't be a merchant.
