Thread: Merchants, Player Cities & Tatooine...
When our city placed a shuttleport and we put up vendor tents nearby, the sales skyrocketed. I have seen about a 150-200% increase in my PUbusiness since doing so. Others have seen similar results. Some of our Crafters are even having a hard time keeping up with the demand for certain items.
It still boils down to the old adage..."location, location, location". We try to keep our merchant tents close together in our designated "Merchantile Zone" near the shuttleport. This works very well because the first thing visitors see when they step off the shuttle is our tents. "One stop shopping" is a consumer's dream. Make it easy for them.
Advertising also helps. Global Listing is your best friend. One thing that I like to do is to throw a couple of items on the public bazaar once in awhile and type in an advertisement for my shop in the "description" window. This seems to generate a good amount of customer traffic.
BTW, the city of XYON (Chilastra, Naboo) welcomes both Merchants and Artisans with open arms. A 2% Sales Tax is in place, but that doesn't seem to affect sales at all. We have plenty of room available for new tents and business is brisk. Contact our Mayor, Zallon, for details.
Well i always keep my vendors stocked, and i get a great deal of costumers in our player city. But the amount of sales i get i get thanks to the little fact our city is really growing into a sales centre with lots of great crafters as our inhabitants or as suppliers. f you are on lok visit our little town
