Thread: What's the average paycheck?
I am not really a crafter (Master Artisan) and I am not in a PA. I have over 300 items on my vendor and stock to last for a long time (Bank, house, hopper of harvester) and 500k in bank (more probably now).

Unless you're a crafter or in a PA it's veryhard to make much money as a merchant.
Not impossible, but difficult.
I run a Mall for my Guild. The Praxium Mall, south of Coronet on Kauri. There are currently 9 vendors from my guild there. 5 people are using my vendors and I am seeling my armor on my other one. I have three people with their own vendors. Since my Guild gave me the lager house that I am using and that I am the Financial Officer for my guild (The Jedi Praxium), I do not require a cut of the sales. I do get 10-15% as a contribution from my vendors.
I typically generate 750k in sales per week. That averages out to 75-90k profit per week. Abou 75% of my sales happen from late Thursday to mid-day Saturday.

I knew someone would say that.
Congratulations, do you want a cookie?
First, I said difficult, not impossible. Note that this leaves room for successful merchants. I myself am somewhat successful. I run a mall with about 15 vendors in it, plus I'm running a medical supply vendor, stocked with stuff that I don't craft.
Second 500k isn't that much. I have about 3 million. A combat guy can make that in a weekend if he puts his mind to it. (I know I could. I'm almost a master rifleman, 8k voritor dasher missions add up quick).
The hard part is finding suppliers. That's very difficult to do, especially if you're not in a PA. 90% of crafters don't really NEED you. I've been trying to resell armor for a while. I sent e-mail's out to 12 master armorsmiths on my server about buying armor in bulk.
3 responded. 2 said no. The other said he was going out of business and I could have some of his stock. I ultimately declined, partially because I knew that eventually it would run out and I'd be without a supplier, partially because armor will get better with the next patch.
When I was a merchant I was not PA backed, I did not craft or mine, all I did was buy and sell goods. With this strategy I made at least 1 million credits in PROFIT per week. If you count how many credits worth of stock I sold a week, it would be about 2.5x more then that (I would always buy more stock then I had the previous week
)
The thing is to be a master merchant it takes alot more then just skill points and merchant xp, you really have to go out there and make contacts, set resonable prices and make the community know about you without making them hate you.
Since SOE has failed to make us a real profession, it completely depends on your MAIN profession. Myself personally, I make roughly 50k-100k a day in sales.
