I would support an index/locator function but the idea as proposed will butcher the merchant proffession. Why have a store? Why decorate vendors? What happened to customer relationships? What about barker droids don't need thos anymore. Don't the hiring line at all. Don't need the advertising line. This seems like a gutting of our proffession to me and all the hard work I have spent and collecting a building nice inventory and creating a good customer base all out the window. Very dissapointed maybe they can be influenced to make some changes unfortunately this will run many crafters and merchants out of their proffessions.

Actually, they got rid of the whole thing and took it back to the drawing board.

I am beginning to wonder about that. Looked at the front page lately?

Updates of Galactic Proportions Coming to SWG!
In Development has been updated with the full Enhanced Galactic Civil War System, the new Player EventPerks Design, a Global Vendor Search System, and the updated version of the Group Looting changes. We've also posted a Friday Feature that shows some of the new Combat Upgrade Weapons. Be sure to read all of the updates and give us your feedback on the forums!

Might just be an oversight, but the front page still advertises it, has the link leading to the VERY SAME idea as was stated to us. Why are they still touting it when they've said they have taken it off the table for a re-think?

Let me rephrase that... They got rid of the design that was presented and took it back to the drawing board for redesign.

They never said they weren't gonna implement it... just that they weren't gonna implement this version of it.

Remember, Vendor Search is something that we DO want (it's been in the "issues" list for ages). We just want something that doesn't harm the merchant profession and the fear is that the system that was presented would do just that.

Like I said guys, who gonna bike it to shops in player cities etc when this is avaliable from Coronet bank... OUCH!!

Galaxy-wide Vendor Search is here!.....

Purchasing Items
Players who purchase an item using this system will have the item sent directly to them. After a successful purchase the player will receive a message telling them if the item was delivered successfully to their inventory or if the delivery failed. If the item was not successfully retrieved then a waypoint to the location of the vendor will be mailed to player. The player will then need to travel to the waypoint location to retrieve the item from vendor or bazaar directly.

Galaxy-wide Vendor Search is NOT here YET!...

Based upon community feedback we have decided to take this design internally and work on it some more before we release it to Test Center.

The design is far from final on this.

The devs are well aware of our concerns about it.

Elyssa, please forgive me for saying, but the fact that it's on the main page under current news with a link directly to a description exactly as it was before makes me wonder. After all, you were notconsulted before the original announcement was made. It's entirely possible they could roll it out without consultation as well.

I'm not saying it's a fact. i'm not saying that they AREN'T re-thinking the process and idea. I just find it strange nobody has taken 5 minutes to remove it from the current news.

They're not always that accurate at updating the web pages in a timely manner.

I'll just say two things here and you can make of them what you will.
1) Things don't always get updated in a timely manner.
2) Trust me.

they can't possibly put this in ... it will destroy everythingmerchant is about.....

if anything

they should give you guys shops that look like shops not houses

the ability to create moods in store via lighting and music that only vendors can introduce.

better vendor listing options so 50% of all items dont end up in misc.

and yes the ability for us shoppers to serach, but ultimately have the travel to your stores to do the purchasing

you know how it is.....

you get there planning to buy 1 item

look around

see a bargin

and come out with 10 items....

my girlfriend does it all the time, even though our wardrobe says item count 200/200
