Thread: game over
Lol Jacko do you even have a Jedi? You must not, because I love mine and have more fun playing him than any other profession I have tried.

The fact is, the game has died.
Too many people are now Jedi, it shows because the DEVS actually changed a publish. When this starts happening the future of this game is bleak, very bleak.
Think about what you have, and have to look forward to:
Everyone is a Jedi.
No FRS.
No loot.
No fun.
The DEVS may have saved a few players from quitting, and bent over and done as the players want, but in the long run they have doomed the game.
I know my days are numbered.
Please get all th einformation befire you blame (or thank as it should be) the Jedi community for the rollback of the patch. If you lloked that the Pub 22 feedback youd see that a majority of the commuity were upset by the xp change. Not because there wasnt a XP change called for but because that wasway toextreme. They pushed a patch w/oproperly testing it. They gave very little information about it and the information they gave was a bit misleading and indirect. The only people who thought it was a good thing were completed temps who wanted to be lonely at the top.
Now people have been saying the game has died since I've been playing. You arent the first and you certainly wont be the last but your opinion on the matter will be just as valuable as the rest, as in not at all.

If that were true, which I belive to be the case, it backfired spectacularly, instead of keeping people in the game it generated 1000's of cancellations.
The bright side is, that will have sent a very loud message to the bean counters, that increaseing the grind time is NOT the way to keep people in the game longer. Vet rewards are good, high end content is good, maybe give everyone 1 more skill point for every 6 months of playtime would be good (with a cap)
Making a game someone enjoys into more work than fun is NOT the way to accomplish retention. Give them a reason to stay, clean up the bugs, add content fix borked professions etc is the way to do it. Do something with the GCW, basewars are just dumb put a planetary cap on bases, maybe 20 bases per planet, if you want to place one, and the planet is capped, put together a posse and take a few out to make room for yours.

You know, Saxiff, I agree with you, and believe that those who have bypassed the "jedi grind" have little appreciation of the profession. Why is it that jedi should take a significant amount of time to attain? So that one can learn and experience the ups and downs that come with achieving anything worthwhile. Yes, I am a pre-cu jedi; yes, I ground solo for months, risking xp loss and avoiding visibility at all cost (with a 5 min rez timer no less!). Does this make me better than others? No, but I appreciate what it has taken so many to achieve (until the recent respec/insane xps). My personal opinion is that Jacko would rather have an instant god-character, and instant "I win" button, and (as I wrote in my "END GAME" post yesterday) then move on to the next latest fad. As for me (those who outnumber the quitters) I optimistically look forward.
