"The merchant will go to his "offers" window on the vendor and then choose whether he is going to reject the offer or whether he is going to let it go up for sale on the vendor. The merchant then sets the price. Now, the person offering the item set a price too, and the merchant will be required to charge no less than that price, but I say the merchant should have the freedom to charge more for the item, and if the merchant charges more, the merchant gets the difference."

Another way to approach this would be for the person making the offer to set a price upfront as they do now. As the offer is made they check a box to give permission for consignment selling (or not).

The merchant can reject it if the price wanted is crazy, buy outright,or sell on a consignment basis by entering the Merchantssale price. As each item is sold, both parties get paid - the consignment price to the crafter and the difference to the merchant.

There needs to be a safeguard against deleting items in vendors anyway, so why not make it impossible to delete a vendor without first accepting / rejecting any offers and buying / rejecting any consignments.

The idea of consignment in this game is foolish. Only a complete moron would give up his stock to another player and then have to wait for payment. Especially in a game where people come and go at the drop of a hat. Consignment works in real life because actions can be taken if someone runs off with your stuff. In this game, however, if your merchant leaves the game while holding your items you're screwed.

Yet people already do it in the game without the safeguards we are asking for.

The point of the idea is to put in some safeguards that will return those items to the crafter if the sale doesn't happen or if the merchant quits or deletes the vendor. It is giving people more tools to do things they are already doing.

I'd rather have a "Consignment Terminal" that I load my stock on in my shop and then set a permission list on it were I give specific merchants permission to link their Vendors to my terminal. So when they sell one of my droids on their vendor, it disappears off my consignment terminal, my money goes into my bank account, and I get an email let me know what sold so I can replace it. Makes it much easier for me to restock what sells and easier on my resellers as well since they don't have to keep alot of records. And the difference between my consignment price and their marked up price goes directly to their bank accounts. It also protects my inventory in case a reseller leaves the game.

Just for fluf, perhaps have a DZ70, Binary Load Lifter, Probot, or some other droid that looks like a cargo droid land and take off on/from the porch of my house like the shuttle animation. An indicator that there's a working consignment terminal inside my shop and its making automated deliveries to various vendors. Guess the same animation could be done on shops that have vendors that are linked to someone's consignment terminals.

I Made master merchant using consignment, in the early days when I placed a house near a busy town, and crafter friends didnt want to worry about seling there stuff, and only grind (before practice mode).

How did I keep myself honest? well I made a vendor to only sell the supplies stuff, made a title on the vendor to represent the supplier, Supplier kept track of the invintory on the vendor, and any sales made a copy of the email notificaion was sent to the supplier.

Sounds like the DEV's have cooked up some sort of Consignment feature. Anyone got any details on it?

It'll happen at some point after JTL. Possibly also after heck freezes over.

I hope that Sony is one of those we are safeguarded against, from deleting items in vendors.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?
