Deity on brea is a Master Merchant...she is my second account. I made her to serve as the figurehead for my company, and as a helper character for my crafting efforts. She does the stuff I do not want to waste the skill credits on for my main characters...ie she is my master merchant, master artisan, and she does my master tailoring among other little stuff I need her to do for me.

My crafter character is Master Artisan, Master Weaponsmith, Architect 2441, Merchant 4444. He had that Master box in Merchant, but just because he had the AP to get it for the badge. The only two things that were given at Master were reduced vendor maintenance (which is already very low) and the ability to place protocol droids as vendors (which I will *never* do), so I dropped the Master Merchant box to free up the one skill point I needed to get the second assembly/furniture box in Architect. It annoys me that most crafter classes have one tree for all of the assembly and experimentation, but Architect has them all spread out in different trees.
As far as how this change will affect me... well, I would really not be opposed to completely ignoring all of the ranged weapons, *especially* blasters, because a blaster has 3-4 components while melee weapons have 1, and getting all the resources to build advanced blaster components is ridiculously difficult, assuming you take the first thing that spawns with horrible stats for the schematic! Getting quality resources for advanced blaster components is even more difficult and time consuming (as in, MONTHS to gather resources). So I've already considered just using 1 vendor for 1-handed melee weapons, 1 vendor for 2-handed melee weapons, 1 vendor for polearms, and 1 vendor for smuggler supplies and sliced weapons, with maybe 1 vending machine to fill in any gaps. Having a 100 item cap on each of those vendors wouldn't hurt much at all if you use one vendor for one type of weapon. However, in today's world, store owners don't want to constantly check on vendors and restock and do factory runs, because they want to do something *other* than all that boring stuff, so they typically do very large factory runs and cram it all on a vendor so they can forget about it for a while.
I doubt I would bother with that Master box again, simply because I need that one lone skill point elsewhere.

I have a master merchant on Kauri ( my as/tailor/mm). I have created my alt there as well ( second account), she is working to master merchant as well ( and hunter). I wanted 12 vendors to sort my goods out into ( andI want all 12 on the map, and be able to dress them and the reduced fees on harvestors). I didn't like that people had to sort through 3k items on my formal wear vendor to find what they needed. I wanted my components ( snth cloth etc) to be on a different vendor than my bioclothing. My wookiee clothing has its own vendor, and jewelry it's own. Accessories has it's own vendor. I can now split my casual wear and field wear to seperate vendors now too!! This still leaves me with 2 vendors for armor and shields. Artisan goods get's it's own vendor too.

Master Merchant since about march. Gonna be Master Super-hero in the game City of Heroes soon if this nerf goes through and kills my favorite game. Cyas, and have fun fighting with a looted cdef again when you can't find the weapons you need because there isn't enough availability for the whole server. Pfft, screw shopping all day. If I wanted to do that I'd play The Sims Online. Oh wait, I think that bombed at launch. Point made.
