Garva,

If we do not get involved while it is just on the test center, it would be harder for you guys to undo live.

so if we can help stop a nerf that will colapse our economy we have to ban together and yell all over the fdorums for you guys to see.

When this game was first announcedI was so excited I ran out and reserved a copy,

bought the special edition.

I read the box when i picked up the game I was in heaven, professions, pvp. freadom to run around solo or in groups, missions.

I found skill points were not enough so i bought another account,

told friends about the game the bought the game, got my sister a copy.

i just picked up my 3rd account about a montha ago.

we have been through the hard times and the good times.

our galixys are in trouble,

yes there are a lot of empty venders from the holo grinding.

remove those.

remove accounts of ones that have not been in game for 6 months,

offer to the crafters of each profession a larger crate

in tailor i run 40 crates of each item i need plus i need metals, hides, bones, gems,

make the crates 100 cloth instead of 25. that will take up less space,

if hides were not seperated by planets we could consolidate all leather, all woolies ect,

same with resources . it is a thought.

Jedis are awsome its fun to watch them. and dream.

but were in star wars not knights of the republic.

we your crafts your fighters your pvpers your non jedis need to be taken care of.

after all we are the ones that keep the economy flowing.

well thank you for listening to me

hug

It would seem that God will eventually ban all children from eden. Welcome to Sodom and Gamorreans.

Sorry... ...this thread is laced with bad puns and a sharp decent into a metaphorical tailspin.

P.S. Garva? Why was my "psychological funnel cloud" post deleted? Am I not allowed to speculate?

I hope so. No news was announced before this went to TC.

DocSavage apparently had no warning about this happening.

And we haven't heard a thing from the Devs in over 5 days regarding this (although this does spans the weekend).

I hope they make an announcment with some explanation soon.

I never said I had no warning. I didn't know when it was going to TC. I knew it was coming soon as I had been working with TH to try to adjust the numbers upwards for a few days. I wasn't allowed to share those with you at the time.

GarVa's point is what I've been saying myself, don't panic until this gets closer to being live. At this point we have approxmiately 2 weeks to work for a better solution. Anger and threats are ultimately not nearly as convincing as facts and rational discussion about the topic.

Doc.. Their is a fine line between willingness to fix a problem and putting a badaid on a problem. I know they want to lower the lag due to the database for JTL.. BUT

If I am a bank.. I have to process millions of transactions a day.. Do I tell my clients they can only make so many transactions per week? Do I limit them to savemy system or do I create / revamp a system to be able to handle the issue.. It seems that Sony opts for CHEAP fixes and ones that affect people greatly and thats why we have so many patrons upset.

Not to mentionDEVS helped create their own problem.. Drop rates increase harvester BER's increased while not adding enough craftable content which degrades.. Dont punish us and it is punishment from where I sit.

Now thats an issue.

I'm not asking you to be FOR the changes. I'm asking you to be calm and methodical about your opposition. I'm not asking you to support item limits or to be happy about them. I only ask that you don't waste valuable time ranting about it because it doesn't help. The people who are helping are those who are giving information about their current businesses and counter proposals to item limits. The Devs will respond when they have something to say. It isn't usually their habit to pop in and say "we're thinking about it" though that does sometimes happen. I have spoken to TH about this issue yesterday via email and I assure you he is aware of the situation.

Thats alright Doc, I have said my peice and await word from the DEVS now.. They should really have been more open about such a drastic change and told us the exact reasons and meaning it all has for the game over time.. Offered us their possible solutions which they are currently discussing and gone about it in a different manner..

I understand you need to keep things on ice under these circumstances and I wouldnt want to be doing what you do at this point in time..

Doc, calm and rational isn't getting anywhere. Calm and rational got the GCW revamp put back, the combat balance put back, TEF isstill fubared in several ways, player cities have issues, Smugglers feel like a useless profession, hundreds of known bugs are still in the game, and now SOE's flat out lost their minds.

There comes a point where the community just flat out isn't going to take it any more. Where the masses throw rationality to the winds and start taking hostages. I watched it happen in EQ, where Woody of /GU Comics proved to be the lightning rod that focused player anger into effective action by boycotting the next expansion. But it was effective in part, because the people running EQ had already realized they'd screwed up.

The team running SWG has yet to reach that point. And being calm and rational isn't going to get their attention.

Two things woke up the EQ team: account cancellations and /GU Comics. We don't have a Woody here, so that leaves us only the cancellations.

That must be a hell of a paycheck SOE is sending your way.

Well, in games, and especially MMORPG, it's common knowledge.

DEV created the world, and do whatever they want with it.

Doc? Are these changes occurring now, as opposed to after JtL, because SOE is trying to accommodate the additional server demands of JtL? You stated that you have been working with TH on this. Why are these changes being made now? SOE stated they can't dedicate a lot of resources to non-JtL concerns at this time, yet this large effort is being made to merchant despite large changes needed in other areas. Why merchant? Why now? Is SOE trying to avoid the costs of additional server demands from JtL?

Crimson,

You hit the nail right on the head. As Creature Handlers we did the stay calm, rational, reasonable approach to what they were doing. Vertexon said, be calm. We were. TH said you all are "poke-pet" players. Rational started to slip.

We have literaly posted hundreds of pages of suggestions to make CH viable again, calm, rational, well thought out, inteligent posts. To this day not one, I repeat not one of those posts have ever been responded to.

TH said I won't go where my feelings are hurt. TH needs to grow up, this is the real world, real business and criticism is part of life. Take the mouse out of your hand and the soother out of your mouth TH and start acting like an adult.

Don't blame us, take responsibility and fix something, fix this for sure.

If anything needs to be pushed back, IMHO, JTL is at the top of the list. IF they actually fixed the bugs in this game, I believe they would not have to have JTL until next spring, because with just fixing the bugs here, you would open up content that is at this moment, either not available or not playable.

There is no GCW. There will be no Combat Revamp. A galactic civil war means that Imperial oppression and might is felt everywhere. It means that going as an overt Rebel is the most dangerous thing you can do. It means being a jedi and using your force powers will draw Imperial wrath in the form of Dark Jedi's, Dark Stormtroopers, ATST's.

A civil war means ambushes, pitched battles between NPC's that drag in innocent bystanders. It means as an imperial I can't run through a pitched battle in town without turning overt. It means that an Imperial Colonel can order me to fight and I have to. It means that searches at starports are always on and smugglers and rebels are very well behaved when passing there. It means that high ranking officers should be able to command NPC troops in one of the Rebel raids, or Imperial crackdowns.

But this strays from the post. The fact is that merchants will be nerfed, the devs have decided this, and all your calm, rational, inteligent non inflamatory posts are going to get you a big fat zero.

Doc said he "has" been trying for the past two weeks to get the numbers up but they had gagged him from communicating to the paying customer that this was going to happen. That tells you that the dice have been rolled. So be calm, rational, non inflamatory, don't threaten them, or say bad things or heaven forbid, speak the truth. That would upset the Devs who think of themselves as God, you read that right, I didn't say that they said it. And if you are lucky maybe you will get banned, or your account canceled and that will save you from cancelling in disgust when this does go live with no changes.

Good luck Merchants you are going to need it.

Remember any cap limit, is a victory for the Devs cause that is what they wanted to force you into from the start.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.
