I never use ad barking because the stupid vendors still turn when they talk to people. And since we can no longer rotate them after they're placed for some reason that got really annoying. But assuming that rotation ever gets fixed I'd love to be able to include a customer's name in the bark.

I have several vendors, ad barking enables me to point out that fact to customers.Different tents can be a pain for several vendors, but with barking I can make sure my customers know I have more vendors in the general area.

You can still rotate vendors btw using the /rotate command

I don't know why they disabled it from the menu and I don't know what if any harmful effects rotating can have since it rotates on its own without any real issues.

its got to be the standard ones. I've spent many many hours trying various permutations to get the custom ones to work, and still nothing

This doesnt work, those are simply standard greetings. Standard greetings will address the customer by name.

I wonder if the devs will remember to prevent thenew moveup/movedown commands from working on vendors. I'm already picturing vendors standing on top of sun statues in large Tatooine houses.

So much for a Smuggler revamp, maybe they should just rename us, it would take less time and be easy to do.
"Useless" would be my first choice as a name suggestion.

of course at this point there is no reason to revamp anything. SOE should just shut the game off.

I'm fairly certian I saw a long list of vendor bark customs including %TT, %NT, etc that gave first name, full name, species, etc... And I could swear I've seen custom ones work!

Yes, I'll confirm that I have seen several vendors say my name in their barking.

"Hey there Evarn, you're looking pretty beat up! Want some med packs?"

"Take a look at my armor supplies here Evarn!"

etc... I've seen it on quite a few vendors.

There are missions in which you "deliver an item while hostiles attack you" in every profession. I still don't consider [Smuggler's Alliance] pilots to be Smugglers, nor 'Smuggling' - at least not any more than Rebel Pilots or Imperial Pilots might sometimes "smuggle", with a lower-case s - JFreeman - 10/6/04
