This is put on hold because it appears the new friends list will do what I intended my windows app to accomplish.

folks...

this is not something you should have to do....this stuff should be in game features...the data is there in their database...a simple addition of the most basic business module would allow the tracking of sales and profit/loss etc.

Operating the vendors with any decent volume is a job already....this a feature you need to demand...and not spend the time yourself doing this. You don't have access to the database..so everything your discussing requires you to do the data entry....sorry no thanks.

want to work...get a job that pays...

want to game ...and have fun....then put your voices together to get these features added.

That's why I am starting a new character on Test, actually two. I will make a merchant to test my starting profession and a CH for the fun of it.

Iagree that some features would be nice to have in the game. However, there are always going to be some features you want that you can't get.Perhaps it's not feasible to do, or there isn't enough demand for it.That's where tools like this come in.

Also, you may not like data entry.. most of us don't. But a tool like this can actually make the game more fun for some people. It can also give people an edge over the ones that don't have it. Also, in most cases i'm guessing, creating the tool is fun for the programmer.

I'm sure you'll see a lot of 3rd party tools come out for this game over its lifetime.A buddy of mine is writing a web app that tracks resources. Ok, that's been done you say.... but notto this degree. It tracks all current resources with respect to schematics and relevent properties. And it will track over time and give recommendations. You think SOE is going to implement that feature into the game?I don't.

Anyway, don't knock 3rd party tools... they have a place.

I currently use a spreadsheet to track all my sales, as well as customers who want to be on my email list. I also have a rundown of all my schematics, with the complexity, amount of exp, resources required, and my prices in it. It would be great to put that into a more friendly database format, rather than five separate worksheets.

I haven't found any upper limit to the number of emails you can send. I sent a mass-mailing to over 150 folks who had bought stuff from me over a few months, and did it by copying and pasting the name list into the email To: field. The format is just each name separated by a semicolon. (Don't worry, I did that as a one-time thing... big disclaimer at the bottom saying that they only got this email because they had purchased stuff from me, and that to get future emails they would have to reply with "subscribe" in the header. A few actually did!)
