If someone leaves his vendor on whilst taking a holliday for more then 7 days, knowing that vendor drop their items into the stockroom after 7 days, then yes, he's at fault. Even if it isn't documented, it's the players own responsability to find out and understand how things work, that's one of the key features of MMORPGS. If that person then /ticket 3 more times, after being told the first time already that it's his own error and nothing can be done, then yes, this person is causing a stress on the Customer Support Service. And he darn well knows he does. Why does he do so? In hopes of getting another CSR that will feel pitty (how unlikelly the chance)

That time those CSR's spend on him, yet again explaining everything, is time taken from other custiomers who do have a real issue.

People that do that and then also complain about how "unfairly" they have been treated are the bane of every online game. I was Senior Counselorfor over threeyears on Ultima Online and I can tell you that 4 to 5 individuals can keep a full team of CSR's occupied for hours a day (so they cannot attend people that have real issues) simply re-ticketing over and over and over the same issue that they caused themselves.

People like that are sickening and whenever I come accross one (and I've met to many in SWGalready who bluntly admit to such behaviour) I will not and shall not refrain from telling this person the truth.

Let's retitle this message "The Good, The bad and The Ugly"

The Good

Goff,

Kindly get the facts straight before you start spouting your words of wisdom.

Once again I will state that the expiration timer on vendor auctions is UNDOCUMENTED. It is not mentioned in the manual what the time elapse is before our items cross the event horizon in the black holes we call vendors.

The problem was not caused by an error on my part, but by an UNDOCUMENTED feature that casual players such as myself would have no way of knowing about unless we literally read every message on the forums. To my knowledge, the timer has not been mentioned in any previous release notes as well.

Holding subscribers accountable for something that they have no way of knowing is ridiculous. A system message that generates when the auction expires - stating the expiration time - or an addendum to the existing one could solve this problem for myself and numerous other players.

The Bad

I am not alone in my assessment that customer service from SOE is far from what I expect as a paying subscriber, andI am a customer service professional for a major Fortune 1000 company.

I was one of the legion of beta testers that said this game was not ready for release, and based on poor documentation alone we are being proven right.

The Ugly

Senior Counselor for Ultima Online? pffffft:::: Is that supposed to give your opinion any more credence than mine?

What I find sickening are self-righteous folks such as yourself who tend to drive the non-uber casual players away from good games.

This might not be the case here, but vendors do have issues if you try and restock them (or buy from them) immediately after server up. This includes several hours after. It can take awhile for the database to catch up, and items can go into a kind of limbo. It's because it hasn't really loaded the items onto the server properly, much like the way all the houses take time to reappear.

That's an interesting point about the servers having to catch up. I logged in right after the servers came up today and yesterday morning and went on a run to check my harvesters. I thought it was odd that I only saw three creatures the whole time! Maybe it takes a while for the spawn to catch up, too.
