Well duh, if your going to recklessly throw around the word "dic" of course people will be offended. Show some common sense and respect will you.

The vendor name filter really amuses me....

Here are names that were rejected for my vendor:

Dr. Kadd's Factory Outlet -- Kadd Brand Factory Outlet -- Kadd Brand Meds -- Dr Kadd's Vendor -- Kadd Brand Outlet Store -- Dr. Kadd's Outlet Store -- Kadd Brand Medical Supplies -- Dr. Kadd's Store

What did I finally get the filter to accept?

"Squid Love Dispensor"

Ok, let me sort this out because you guys are on the wrong track here.

That message will not only come up for 'Obscene' words, but ALSO IF IT'S ALREADY BEEN USED ELSEWHERE.

Ever notice that any player characters in the game with a first AND last name are really only identified by their FIRST name? Well, vendors are THE SAME WAY.

SO, for the person who tried "Wookie Wearables", someone else aready named theirs with Wookie the first word. It could be "Wookie", "Wookie Wear", "Wookie Clothing", etc. etc.

This is why the guy who posted that he used, "Ginja -Clothes", "Akrin -Armor", etc WORKED because the first word (His vendor's made up name), was never used elsewhere before!

SO, if you want to beat this stupid filter, give them a name in front of the item type, such as the examples above.

I'm not saying your wrong Cyberdeity, as what you say makes sense..

However

I have vendors named NsA Uniforms and NsA Depot - both starting with the same thing.. ??

Then you have me stumped because I tried the same thing, and got the error on the second one. I tried NMR Architect and NMR Resources. Since I can't imagine Resources is an 'obscene' word, I figured it was the unique first name problem.

OK, so I guess I was close, but no cigar - can anyone offer some more examples to see if we can find a commonality between them to figure this out?

I have vendors named

Tova's Fashions for Women

Tova's Fashions for Men

Tova's Fashions for Wookiees

but....

Tova's General Goods was obscene =(

No way to use "general" and not get tsk tsk'd

Is this problem maybe just associated with NPC vendors. Or vendors of the same type (mon cal NPC vendors might have a different name check list than Wookie Vendors..)

My Vendors are both terminals but of different types. (type 2 & 3 forget their names - One looks like the bazaar (2), the other I think is like a banking terminal (3)- its green in any case.

Maybee if they had both been type 2 it wouldnt have worked. ??

FYI - to help track down the bug

I have 5 live vendors, split accross 2 houses (adjacent to each other)

Called :-

House 1

Terminal Type 2 - "NsA Depot"

Terminal Type 3 - "NsA Uniforms"

House 2

NPC (Female Human) - "Kruppe's Concubine" - *cough*

Bulky Terminal - "Kruppe's Store"

A.N.Other NPC (forget which type) - Forget the name too, only placed him to get the extra XP....

Note all the ones with the same "first name" are of different types ???

"Gear and Tools"

"General Equipment and Tools"

After a few frustrating tries, I ended up with a vendor 'Something a Little Less Obscene'. I know, not too original--but it worked.
