Thread: The Economy post Patch 10...

All those who keep a vender to sell loots are now going out of business because of this P.O.S skill point drain.
Actually the flip side to this is that those who ONLY sell loot need to reevaluate just how much their loot is worth. Just because you looted it doesn't mean its worth anything. So the good side of this is a decrease in the cost of looted components and schematics to a sane level. Those that have the same looted itemssitting on their vendors should start to realize is that loot is the "real" P.O.S. and not the skill point drain.
Try to actually make a living off non constant crafting of goods and you might have a real idea.
The "real idea" is actually that only less than 10% of all looted items have any significant value. Making "a living" off of loot is a lottery ticket. Sometimes you hit the big bucks, but most of the time its just junk and it should be priced accordingly.
I'm glad bitchy merchants got their wish to ruin the economy.
Yes and I'll be glad when all the professional looters get a clue and realize that to participate in this economy that they'll have to reduce their prices because looters are a dime a dozen.

PS: Economy imo is not looking fair. Even the most popular cities (trade city) have like 6-7 vendors top that's even advertised on the planetary map. I already know al ot of people who ended up just dropping merchant and crafting to free up skills for either the new FS quests or just don't want the hassle of trying to find a merchant they can trust to put it up for them to sell.

I think that is exactly what you would expect. Vendors will migrate to the most traveled areas of the galaxy. PC cities are doomed as a viable market. If you want to make money cnet is the place to be, moreso now than pre-patch.

Well to be subjective, each server is quite different. After looking at the planetary map on the big 3 (Corellia, Naboo, Tatooine)on Kettemoor, I can't see much change in the amount of vendors showing up.
Just as proof of the continual doom and gloom that gets forcasted for this games economy, just type "economy" into the search bar at the bottom of the page (if you can get it to work for you, it's a little cantankerous at times) and spend a while digging through a years worth of posts about how the economy is borked/going to tank/inflated/dying..etc.

I've been reading "the economy of SWG is dying" posts since last October. Pasta certain point, you simply cease to listen, kind of like the folks on street corners with their "Repent Now, The End Is Nigh" signs.

Well the idea I was trying to get across is that it seems the number of vendors hasn't changed. I don't see a ton of new vendors on the scene, and I see plenty of old familiar ones on those planets, and that includes the vendors in PC cities.
As far as PC cities viability goes, I think its a little early into it to call them doomed don't you?

/agree
Personally I am somewhat estatic to find out what the economy will be like without all the players utilizing vendors that they do not have skill points allocated for. Definitely going to change a few things. I really think for the better.
