I know it happens elsewhere sometimes... But on dathomir you are lucky if it doesn't happen.

Has anybody noticed that creatures spawn in exactly the best resource places? If I see red critters I check to see what is there.
I haven't noticed that, but in a completely barren area, after placing my harvesters, I have noticed an inordinate amount of red spawns appearing as if they are drawn to it. Wouldn't put it past the dev's to have somehow coded this in to make our experience more.... intense.

Well depending on what your doing crafting wise, its not that hard to pick up some minimal combat skills.
On the Test Center, I have the following skills:
- Master Artisan
- Master Weaponsmith
- Master Merchant
- Novice Marksman with Carbines 4
- Novice Medic
And that leaves me with 3 skill points left over. So its not that hard to pick up some self defense skills. Most the time I'm carrying a little Krayt enhanced DH17 short carbine witha speed slice that takes it to 1.6 attack speed. Andit will kill most low level mobs and NPC'sin one or two shots.
So picking up some low end combat skills isn't that hard, if you do it right.

Yeah, just got a bit fed up of Valcyn server being down all evening, and had only about 5 mins to deal with it, which didn't include getting incapped or worse slain, and definately didn't have time to call help, but fotunately the stormies were there to help. Also it was the 3rd visit in a row got targetted. Just gets a bit much constantly hearing that combat music.
Basically just didn't have enough time to deal with the harvs, and when I heard I was being attacked again, just felt fed up with it, if I did get slain, probably would have just logged out, and left the harvs to rot and not collect the resources.
Maybe it would be a bit boring if they didn't attack, but like I said earlier it would be better if there was some randomness to it, so you could get a bit of breather from time time, although probably wouldn't get it when you really needed it. I do most of the time get fun from it -dealing with harvs with little combat, but it does get a bit much when you're targetted every single time you're near a red npc/creature, they should make it so that they either (1) attack straight away (as normal) or (2) not attack at all, or (3) wait a while to attack like say a minute, but you never know if they'll attack or not, which I think would make things more interesting, as at the moment you either leave it alone until later or get help, as you know you'll be attacked, but if they make things random from those 3 different scenarios then you could risk going in to see to the harvs as they may not attack. This just adds a bit more AI to the npcs/creatures.

does anybody know if being near an imperial city plays any role in the frequency of stormtrooper spawns? my factories are just outside the perimeter of an imperial city and I seem to have stormtroopers camping near my factories fairly often.

Actually could leave out creatures, still make them attack all the time, but give more intelligence to the npcs. ALthough usually creatures in real life don't attack straight away if they've already attacked someone or another creatureand won, so maybe if a squill has defeated a player, then another player walks by, he doesn't get attacked from that same squill for a while, but any other squills who have not "won" would still attack.

NPC types don't argro if they don't see you... I had one of those on my small flora farm that was camped by Bravo Thugs. NPC don't see you unless you are close they do that search thing with there hand over there eyes looking back and forth. What I did was lay prone and crawled to my harvestor and checked my harvestor and the NPC's were about 25m away. If its an animal like a plains cat they can smell you and they will attack.

Was just tending to my Micro Flora Farms, which were being guarded by a group of stormtroopers. Whilst paying in credits and power, got attacked by a couple of scyks. The stormtroopers took them out!
Although wasn't lucky the other day, logged into game by micro flora farms, and ended up in the cloning facilty, as soon as game loaded. Didn't even have enough time to leg it!
Wish npcs and creatures would leave non combatative chars alone (merchants and crafters). My wookiee char that was attending to to those micro farms, has no combat skills whatsoever (just equipped with a good bowcaster, and still not got even Novice Marksman), and only faction is -ve thug and +ve townsperson, from the odd evil hermit attacks.
The only time a non combat char should get attacked is if they have -ve faction, and to get that would have to go out of their way to attack a npc. I only got -ve as managed to defend myself from their attacks. Don't these npcs realise if they kill their Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths etcthey won't have any place to buy their weapons and armor etc from?

I was trying to move all my harvesters today and a swarm of Howling Plumed Rasps nearly killed me.
Thank god they weren't gubburs!
Where was the Empire when I needed it?

My tactic is to set my radar to 128m and dismount as the WP comes into view (do not store the vehicle as you can run / mount even in combat). Call the droid and give it the guard command and move in slowly.
You can usually tab through the targets to see what they are, target the toughest and send in the droid to attack at 80m, if you then start your own ranged attack you will start firing as soon as the NPC closes to 64m to intercept the droid.
I have found that as long as you stay at the 64m ranged combat limit the droid gets all the aggro and you get ignored until it's incapped. In a mob situation target the NPC attacking the droid so it's finished off quicker and the droid can deal with the next attacker, if you target another mob member they chase you and the droid is to busy to help.
All you need for this is a decent advanced probot (with auto repair), a laser rifle and rifles 3.

When I first started out Stormies would help me on Naboo even when I was neutral. Rebels did not but I figured out why this was.
Stormies are fairly high ranked mobs for starting planets, where as the local rebels where all lowend since they whee spawns from the other n00bs missions.
Later when I encountered higher end rebel mobs they also attack critters attacking me even tho I had gone Imperial by then.
