No.
I only sell the goods I make, and have a good enough grasp of which ones are selling that I can keep my vendors stocked. Of course, I don't move hundreds of items a day out of 6 locations, either. That would be far too busy for me to have fun.

I am a merchant to sell my own goods.
I export /mailsave each day, import info into a database.
Reports are somewhat rudimentary.
I found that I tend to stock vendors every 3 days. A different vendor each time.
So I made a 3 day sales report and daily sales by location.
I managed my harvesters and lots via excel. The "average daily running costs" are input from that for each date, allowing me to calculate some idea on profit and actual costs.

I track my inventory on my PDA (I only sell maybe different 10 items). What I really track is my customers. Every time I get a sale I make sure the person is in my (Customer) group in my Friends list, and I add the location and general class of item (I have 2 stores and 2 'themes') and update the last purchase date.
When I change prices, etc, I can send a mass game mail to everyone in the list. I also maintain a "do not advertise" list of people who've asked to be removed
For instance, today I had my single highest sale volume day ever. I ran out of my top 3 items, one of them twice (I had some restock on hand in a factory! So I let my 'regular' customers know that I'd re-stocked (and re-restocked in 1 case) in case they came by and saw an empty vendor (1 of my 3 vendors was sold out entirely for the first time ever.... I restock at least once a day and keep 2 factories running 24x7 but ....)
This wouldn't work for a general vendor I don't think, but since I sell to a limited market, my only problem is wading through the Online/Offline messages so I can see my actual friends show up

I track inventory, using /mailsave and a nice little extraction program that was posted here several weeks ago. Very helpful, and with hundreds of possible items to make, it's really useful for figuring out what style and color combinations sell over time.
I kinda wish I had a good system for tracking customers at the same time that wouldn't be too much of a pain, but I mostly just work off memory and friends list for that.

I use the E-mail processor which you can get at www.thedotcommakesitfunny.com, but there is one problem. Eventually, this would leave the mail folder in my swg-catalogue with thousands of files, and it seems like I have to start a new project in Access every time I've imported new mails to the xml-file.
Any workarounds to this? I keep all my queries, but it feels kinda unneccesary to delete the previous sale table and make a new one.
Second problem if there are any sql-pro's here. All mails comes with a date "9. february 2004" and time. If I wanted a query which selects ALL mails for ALL dates, sums up the prices and I can then see that 9th february I sold for 500k credits, 10th february I sold for 750k credits... which would let me see the sales over time pretty easily.

I don't track at all. I have 4 different vendors, 3 are mine and another is for a friend. For that one I just forward him the mails and keep them until I pay him back, for the others I just restock daily when something gets sold. I restock the medical vendor every week or so.

I'm so low tech.
I just kind of take a peek at my vendors every few days and see what needs to be restocked. The alt that my fiance and I share is a merchant, and more often than not Mr. Fiance deletes my e-mails. But that's ok - I'm familiar enough with my stock to know what's missing.
With nearly 1200 items, I really should get a new system.

There's an article about this on swgtailor - which is too difficult for me but you may find it useful.

Are any of you organized merchant that have external programs/spreadsheets or whatever willing to make them available to those of us without the necessary skills to make these up? Thanks.

No, I think my profession is already too much like a second job.
I am a developer, and could easily make the databases and tools needed, but its not really worth my time I think. I know what I sell and I see a profit, thats all I need to know for now

The above has been true until now that is, when I have been doing mostly custom orders - those were not easily trackable anyway from mails, as I traded them directly at agreed-upon prices, not using public vendors as they would not be able to reserve goods for given customers who ordered them.
Still, even now that I am giving up the custom manufacturing and turning towards factory made goods instead ( armor ... ) I think I can still get the info I need without external software.
If I do make an external app to parse and organize/analyze data, it would just be as an exercise
Is there anywhere where people ( geeks like me ) have gathered software for this purpose for comparison ?
I am a bit out of touch with merchant fansites.
