You know, I have two characters on two servers with the same name, and have never deleted the second one because i was expecting something of the kind...

but a search engin also probly has higher bandwidth limits than swg since soe are probly only willing to increaes the bandwidth on everquest (the dullest game in existance). if soe listend to the players and put some money into this game it would probly over take everquest easily but since everquest is soe's favorite it will never happen.

Now that I've settled a bit, maybe this is their low end offer. Kind of like buying a car, you shoot low and hope to end somewhere in the middle where everyone's happy.
Yes it could be a sort of offer..., but lets face it... this is like waltzing into the porsche dealership and offering them 2 pennies and a stick of gun for a new 911.
As far as database....this is a massive mistake... Instead of having vendors that load from different areas... no everyone will place thier own/cross server trade lots to put down more homes. I know that I would have to put down60 new homes just to handle the stock of my newly limited vendors.. Alot of peopel will do this, and as a result lag is going to be horrid.

It's not a bandwidth issue. They're reducing the count of items on their database server because the bad design can't handle it.

I don't claim to know much about servers or databases, but aren't the vendors on a seperate vendor server? Like sometimes you can't access any vendors but you can play the rest of the game, its like the vendor server is down.
If that is the case, is it logical to then assume that if items are removed from vendors and placed in house or factory storage, the lag in the "play-area" of the game will become alot worse?
Personally I would prefer to wait up to 5 mins for a vendor to load if I know its going to be well stocked, than to have to spend hours travelling around trying to find a vendor that has the items I need on it. And I would definately prefer to see a load on the vendor server than to die to lag every time I try to hunt or check my harvesters.

We have unlimited now and things are working fine. That is a fact.
Once all the empty vendors/unused vendors are deleted things will be more fine.
Once the 6 month cancelled charachters are purged things will be even more fine.
Blaming this on database issues is a nothing more than an excuse.
I agree, but you forgot to insert one point at the start:
-So many players have left now, the database should be lighter than ever.
