Honestly, unless you plan to have an army of players sitting around AFK accessing your vendors, the most you can get from one character is 300 xp per hour and it won't make a huge difference in your xp gain.
You'll get 150 xp per hour for EACH vendor you have active whether anyone clicks on it or not. That doesn't sound like a better deal, but you'll get that xp 24/7 and you don't have to sit parked in front of your vendor.
Now if you can get 6 or 8 people to sit at your vendors for hours while AFK, then you're on to something.
Am I doing something wrong? I have 2 vendors up, and am working on Novice Merchant. They have been up for nearly 48 hours now and I am only at 4700xp, and i have had some friends entering with an access fee and checking the vendors. I paid maintence and everything...what am I missing?

Are you sure you have maintenance in the vendors? You get significantly less xp if they're at less than 100% condition. Go visit your vendors personally. XP is stored when the vendors aren't loaded into the world.
With Maintenance:
48hrs x 150xp = 7200 xp. x 2 vendors = 14400 xp.
Without Maintenance:
48hrs x 50xp = 2400 xp. x 2 vendors = 4800 xp.
Also, you must be the owner of the house to get xp from the access fee. At any rate, you can only get xp once every 10 minutes from players hitting the refresh button on your vendor (just opening the interface isn't enough) and paying an access fee.

Thanks for the reply. I made sure there were credits in it for maintenance. The house belongs to my alt, which explains why I didnt get that xp 
.
Edited cause i found the answer to my other question lol. Vendors up and running at 100% with maintenance.
